Hello, I would like to bring your attention on a new post published on the UAWLAP.org Site. Details of the post follow. In Solidarity, Steven M. Stone Rand Paul runs from Ky workers Kentucky Labor 2010 Brothers and Sisters, Yesterday, Rand Paul came to Louisville for a "meet and greet" with voters. Over three dozen union members from across Kentucky attended the public forum to ask Paul about his policies. Unfortunately though, Paul forgot to meet or greet anyone in attendance. After speaking for no more than 13 minutes, Paul quickly turned on his heels and headed for the back entrance. Once outside, he immediately jumped into a waiting car, locked his door, and drove away. Click this link to watch the video. www.youtube.com/kentuckylabor#p/a/u/0/Z8S-fRoqo_0Only 38 days remain before November 2, and still the working brothers and sisters represented by the Kentucky State AFL-CIO have not had the chance to question Paul on social security, workplace safety, trade, unemployment or any of the other issues that will make or break the middle class in the coming years. Members need to consider two questions: 1) How can anyone vote for Rand Paul if he ore she doesn't know where he stands on the issues that matter the most? 2) What will we tell future generations if we sit on the sideline and allow a candidate who expects your vote, but won't even look you in the eye, to win this election? To succeed in November, we need to be active, mobilized and aggressive about spreading our message to all corners of the Commonwealth. One simple way you can make a difference is by forwarding this email, and the video embedded above, to every one of your brothers and sisters. Our community needs to know that Rand Paul refuses to talk to mine workers about workplace safety, that he waves away retirees with questions about social security, and that he ignores factory workers who have lost their jobs because of unfair free trade deals. It is crucial that members hear the facts, and they need to hear them from you. this is where unions have a disconnect with the people. "organized labor" is not the same as "workers".
i just wish we would focus on what we do, and quit trying to be a political organization.

I will have to look up his stand on naffta I am not sure what it is so Ill get back later on that.We cant keep going the way we are and think its going to be ok,you cant spend like this and gov is way to big.It has to be cut

Man I agree with that! I wish they would concentrate on getting back everything we gave up instead of trying to push their political agenda. They spend alot of time and resources for very little return!

Its in the best interest of the UAW to stay out of politics right now. Like I posted before, people are choosing other brands just because of who the UAW backs politically. Just wait until next contract when Ford tells us we have to pay for our own insurance. I'm sure the UAW loyalist will still defend Hussein and blame Bush for it. BTW, I'm not a Bush fan either before you Libs put words in my mouth. If I had it my way the Dems and Repubs would be voted out.

If you guys really vote your job, then how do you explain backing a Republican. Almost all of us on here were hired under the Clinton economy and the louisville area Ford workers were making loads of money during those years. During the Bush years we started sliding til we hit layoffs and rolling down weeks, and contract concessions. You can complain about Obama but just two years into his term what are we doing? Working overtime and laid off workers are getting jobs at other plants.
Make all the claims you want. We here at Ford can look at our W2's and prove what I am saying is true.
If you vote on abortion vote Republican (though they will never change it)
If you vote on lower taxes for the wealthy, vote Republican. (whos cares what our tax rate is if we are laid off)
But, if you are going to vote on who gives you a good paycheck their is no choice but Dems.
Call it luck, call it socialism, call it falling ass backward into money, but you can't call it a lie. Since we have worked at Ford we always make more money with Dems in office.
Marcus, Rand Paul used to identify himself as a libertarian, and the libertarian platform supports completely free trade and completely open borders.

So democrats are the answer? I think you UAW loyalist are paranoid to begin with. Democrats could give a rats ass about the UAW or any union for that matter. The truth is Kess, they cater to the unions for votes. And I wouldn't even call it catering, more like a lip service. The Republican party is at least the furthest from being a full blown socialist party. I don't know about you Kess but I want to keep my fucking slice of pie, I'm not sharing it with anybody! Just ask someone driving a "window sticker" new foreign car why they bought that car? Chances are more likely to be because the UAW backs the democrapic party. Did the Democrats stand up and defend the UAW when the Republicans were bashing us? Umm, no they did not. In fact Rom Emanuel said "Fuck the UAW" back then. Stop living in the UAW fantasy land. Our only hope of changing our image for the better starts with you guys. Let that sink into your brain because its the truth.

You fall to say anything about Congress being controlled by the Rs under Mr bill c.So to say it was Bill clintons economy is False. BOTH sides sold us out with Naffta and Gatt and thats when we started losing jobs and going down hill.
What is wrong with Rich paying less in tax? Im for all paying the same percent
Yes Im against abortion also.
Just how do the Dems give us a paycheck?
You are correct on Paul and his free trade stand and I do not agree with him on it.Im for large tarrifs on imports.

Anal you really think conservatives drive more foreign cars? I doubt this to be true. If conservatives are good about anything it is buying American made trucks and SUV's and I thank them for it.
Like it or not Dems support things I like in my work place, such as OSHA, and the right to organize. I agree alot of them pay lipservice but at least they don't want to deny me the right to unionize.
And as I have posted before, all of us that work here now have made WAAAYYYYYY more money under the Dems than under the Rep. Thats a fact check your W2s. So yes i wanna keep my piece of the pie, I just want that piece of pie to be as big as possible, and that means Dems.
The only difference in the Dem and Rep tax plan is tax cuts for the top 10%, why do you care if Mullalys pay check is smaller? He has proven not to care about yours.
I will say it again, those poor poor CEO's, I don't know how they can live the way they are mistreated.

My point is that Americans are fed up with the socialist politics that the liberal left is shoving down our throats. With the UAW backing these goons, it makes all of us look bad. The Dems tax plan: Tax the rich, they will pack up their companies and move right out of the US.

OMG....I'll tell you what I get fed up with.... all the labels people place on other people, who may have an independent thought....So with all your wisdom please define "socialist politics" "liberal left" "goons" And if you really want free market economy then the reblicants will stop supporting "State directed economy" with their trade deals etc.... I really tried to let all the pointed views go I should just ignore the topics got to quit reading some of this stuff

I guess you never studied History or took an Economics course. The Government is supposed to be our servants, not our masters. Study the constitution and get back with me.
