"Ford motor company can change the attendance policy for hourly personel at any time they wish."
Truth or Myth?
These are the last 3 policy's that i rememeber:
Policy #1: 1 for 3, 1 awol charged for 3 days called in sick with 4 days a year total and the employees days cleared at the end of each year . This IMO is a no brainer and a cluster fuk on fords part....it needed to be changed. Also stupid stuff like this is the reason soo many people think the UAW are a bunch of lazy people. It's apparrent in this policy that the UNION had some control on the matter.
Policy #2: 4 awols a year with the employees days being cleared at the end of each year. Still not bad for the employee but Ford still got fuked when the employee burned all 4 days in Dec only to have them all cleared within 30 days at the new year. To me the Union still had some say at this point.
Policy #3: This next policy was implemented on whim(not much notice).
4 awols with the days being cleared 18 months from the day of the awol. At this point it is clear that the UNION had switched places with Ford and the hourly employee was getting fuked(mainly because of the way/when it was implemented). By this i mean policy#3 was implemented while policy #2 was in effect, thus making those awols days before into an 18 month awol instead of a year. Sure we had some problem makers but DAM!!! the union just left us out in the cold and we just got cluster fuked!
This is my take on what was implemented and i expect it not to be totaly accurate but close enough to get the ideal out.

Kinda off on the info Pace.
Yes the new system went in. But you had 4 fresh new usable AWOLS when it started. Your penalties stayed in place and the would progress off them if you hit your 5th AWOL after it was started. But, when it started you went back to zero AWOLS
