Hello, I would like to bring your attention on a new post published on the
UAWLAP.org Site.
Details of the post follow.
In Solidarity,
Steven M. Stone
Chairperson Update 10/17/2010
During the week of October 18, Production Standards Rep Ralph Hearn and
Chairperson Steve Stone will be attending MODAPTs training. Ralph will be
covered by Zack Oliver. The Chairperson will be covered by Barry Ford. Fred
Willard will be covering the BC while Dennis Staggs will represent Body Shop and
the Pre-Delivery area.
Rumors that we will not get a product if we don't open the contract or that we
were negotiating a MOA(team concept) are false . What was said at the last
Union Meeting was that VP Jim Tetrault mentioned at the National Ford Council
Meeting, a product announcement in relation to our local Agreement. Our
tear out and retool is on track. Also, mentioned was that Michigan
Assembly Plant has a tentative agreement and we will look at it when it is
ratified. I have spoken to their Chairperson and BC several times about their
C car contract and we may need to adjust our because of the changing in the
our new plant. A Final Area may replace Trim and Chassis Dept. and OT and
classification agreement need to be adjusted along with repair jobs in the
Pre-Delivery. With no Frame area, the Final area will change. The vehicles
will be transported by Skillet and Clamshells changing classifications. Leader
jobs with 15 to 1 ratios will be lowered. The new GFCPA jobs must be regrouped
plus other new work coming to the plant such "Behr" operators along with new
sealer techs job must be classified. BUT we will NOT open the entire agreement
or negotiate a MOA, we will just fix and adjust what is necessary for the
new C Car product under the LAP Contract!
Information supplied by the State to the Louisville Assembly Plant concerning
the TLO during plant shutdown:
Employee will have to seek employment if not recalled within 12 weeks
UI is 26 weeks; will be reduce by any weeks already taken during this BYE
Current extensions start expiring at end of November
Company cannot electronically file for employee
Employees can file in person; on the internet or by phone with a person
(502-875-0442) – UI does not do on-site sign ups due to the ease of the other
three methods.
Educational training may be available; employee can “apply for training
approval and possible funding” at an all-in-one center like the 6th & Cedar
office (Preston is not).
