IF I COULD TURN BACK TIME....IF I COULD FIND A WAY...I'D TAKE BACK THOSE THINGS THAT'D HURT YOU....AND YOU'D STAY!!!!!
If this were true, I would have been fired by now.

Article 12 sub-paragraph C section 9A of the 2005 Local Agreement states: "Hourly employees, during the execution of thier assigned production process, shall not at any time, nor for any reason, sing, hum, or whistle a happy tune. Further, any songs deemed "show tunes" and inparticular songs by Lisa Minelli or Joel Grey in Caberet, will be grounds for disciplinary action, up to, and including termination.

I'm hearing all kinds of new shit at KTP. TonyV should be able to elaborate on some of the crap he deals with in U-trim as well. No singing, no talking, no booing, no humming, no blinking of the eyes, no yelling, no clapping, no foot stomping, no knee slapping...what they really want is NO BREATHING so they can replace us all with the no legacy costing 2nd tier wage workers.

One of my good friends on chassis (a body shop fitter) was told he was not allowed to talk to anyone if the line was moving.

I don't know, but believe it or not, sometimes Salaried Individuals can just decide to be giant dicks.
Often there isn't a reason.......Well, one that doesn't involve their lack of promotion, non-existant sex life, harpy of a wife, thier own drinking problem, or their son getting arrested for coke.......

I was just told who the singer was...he's one hell of a nice guy, a family man. I've known him for a LONG time...in no way was the harassment justified. He was in a good mood and management does not like to see people at work enjoying themselves. It makes you wonder if it is a policy at KTP for management to make sure all the workers are miserable?

Wednesday, the assistant plant manager sent a worker on my team home for yelling "Breathe". I was right there when it happened. Today, a worker on line 4 was told to quit singing or he was going to be sent home. Because of who this person is, I went ballistic on the union along with half of line 4. Kessinger got involved and the uproar subsided. After break, the ass. plant man. come up on the line and apologized to this person.
"Mutual Respect" is the term management has used for a long time to describe employee/management relations. If the front office condones and participates in this way, it is no longer feasible to fight harassment up front with your union because it has become COMPANY POLICY!
......I see class action lawsuits in the near future..............

You have got to be kidding! Actually the way we handled the no booing policy @ LAP was for everyone to boo whenever someone walked down the aisle, it was hilarious & no one was sent home.

Gary isn't an Asst. Plant Mgr., he's my boss, head of Final Area Maintenance. My personal experience with him so far has been good, he has been a good Manager. He has acted respectfully and stayed calm in some dire situations.

HHMMM....... .....and who gave everyone the idea that he was the assistant plant manager???........

I am starting to see a trend.....
Earlier in the week we had a new supervisor for one day named Carlos. He ripped everyone for stopping the line to go to bathroom even though all the team leaders were on a job. He even barked to ask my name to write it down. I spelled it slowly for him. Him and Striker had conversations with the union in the aisle one by one afterward.
I was just talked to on the line by Carlos. Striker and Jaggers were not there.
Maybe if the company rolls a new boss through our area everyday and bullies employees the line workers will cower. Yep, sounds like "Mutual Respect" to me!!!
.....I still smell class action lawsuits.....

There was a meeting last week with salary it seems some of the NEW sups are complaining about females who dress for work in tight fitting jeans. So now there will be a Camel Toe lockout after the 1st of the year.

Gary is the final area manager. He was covering the asst plant manager last week due to Fred being on Vac.
When i spoke to Gary about this idividual, he told me he watned the supervisor to ask the guy not to dance around, that he was witness to a bad accident with a foot under a skid at another plant, due to that. When I told him how the supervisor made more threat than request he went back and apologized to the gentleman.
The "breathe" incident. I think Jaggers, his committeeperson, had this worked out with no penalty BUT THE GUY WANTED TO GO HOME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! You can beat on us for this if you like. But, if a guy says let them send me home, I would rather go home, then what? I have told Jaggers next time to tell the person to waive representation if he just wants to head to the house when he had things explained and fixed. I think the 'breathe" guy is more than happy with how this all turned out.
To make sure we avoid the "breathe" incident again we explained to Gary what it meant. Most managers are ok with this once they understand it.
