Dear Brothers and Sisters,
I want to first congratulate everyone at KTP for a successful year of producing Ford Motor
Company's most successful product. We have weathered many storms over the past few years and our
diligence and hard work is now paying off. Keep up the great work, always remember safety first and
please continue building quality units for our customers.
I also want to wish everyone a Happy Thanksgiving. Be extra careful on the roads and
interstates and remember that your family's safety is more important than arriving at your destination on
time.
I would also like to briefly cover payroll information for the current week. Employees who are
enrolled in Direct Deposit will be able to access their weekly pay stubs online and funds will be available
through their financial institutions on Friday of this week. The weekly pay checks for employees who are
not enrolled in Direct Deposit are mailed each week to their address of record with Friday of each week
being the intended receipt date of their pay checks. Therefore, all affected employees should receive
their pay checks for pay ending November 21, 2010 by this coming Friday, November 26th. This is a
change from years past when live pay checks and pay stubs were distributed in-plant on the Wednesday
prior to the Thanksgiving Holidays.
We've had a very positive response to the lipovite and B-12 programs provided at the hall by
Splendid Skin and Medspa. Some of our members have lost as much as 30 pounds in 9 weeks. Many
have reported a much higher energy level since beginning the program. If you have not taken advantage
of the program it is still being offered every Wednesday from 2:00 p.m. - 4:30 p.m. at the hall. No
appointment is necessary, for more information please contact Charlene Shipley at (502) 339-9931.

It's also time for participants to start thinking about signing up for the Louisville Triple Crown of
Running. This is open to all KTP Active Employees, participation is limited to the first 100 people who

tniehau1@ford.com or contact her at (502) 339-3962. The deadline is Monday, January 24, 2011 or

The plant is also looking for people that would be interested in joining the ERT ( Emergency
Response Team ). These are the employees who respond to serious injuries and accidents in the plant.
They are involved with confined space, incipient fire, and HAZMAT concerns. There will be a week long
training class offered to those that volunteer for the team. It will be conducted by the Michigan State
University on site. After the initial training of 40 hours, there will be quarterly update training offered. If you
are interested in volunteering for this, you can get a hold of Greg Clifford on day shift, Dave Fuch on the
midnight shift, and Glenn Bennett on the afternoon shift. They all can be reached on radio channel B-7.
Last and most importantly, I want to discuss safety in our plant. To date we have had 54 lost-time
accidents, the worst incident record in the system. We must all make sure that we are following all of the
plant safety rules and procedures. Every one of us comes to work for the same reason, and that is to
take care of and provide for our families. Work related injuries not only affect our personal health, they
can seriously affect the well being of our families. In the last year we have had one millwright fatally
injured, two members that have broken their arms, several employees have had severe cuts that have
required surgery, torn muscles, partial finger amputations, several sprains, and strains to backs and
ankles.
We all must remember that our jobs are dangerous and we must stay focused while working. This
has been a tough year for KTP as far as injuries are concerned. My goal for this plant is hopefully your
goal for this plant - zero lost-time injuries for the year. Let's leave the plant the same
way we come in everyday! Thanks for listening.
Once again, I want to wish you and your families a safe and Happy Thanksgiving weekend!
