The Kentucky Truck Plant and UAW have elected to sponsor the children of St. Joseph Children's Home again this holiday season.
As a result of your contributions last year, the plant was able to provide every child with everything on their wish lists to Santa Claus, in addition to providing a New Year's Eve celebration dinner. St. Joseph's was truly overwhelmed by the generosity of the KTP team, and through your efforts were able to make it a very special Christmas for some very deserving kids.
There are approximately 40 children currently in residence at St. Joseph's. These boys and girls range in age from 6 to 14 and have been placed in St. Joseph's by the State of Kentucky due to neglect, physical and/or mental abuse. These kids come from a variety of backgrounds and have found their way to St. Joseph's for different reasons. What they have in common is that they will not be sharing Christmas with a family this year. Some of the children may return home someday, while others will be placed in foster care or eventually be adopted.
The collection period for this important charity drive will start on Monday, December 6th. Donations will be accepted through Friday, December 17th.
We are organizing a committee that will purchase and deliver the gifts to St. Joseph's. All donations are voluntary, but we urge you to please consider supporting the cause. If you would like to volunteer, sponsor a child, or donate please contact Mark Baker (429-2291), Mark Dowell (429-2855) or Takeya Lewis (429-2242).
We need your help to make this a very special Christmas again for the children of St. Joseph's.
Thank you and Happy Holidays,
