Dear Brothers and Sisters,
Order bank: Super Duty 31,892 units; Navigator 1,702 units and Expedition 7,769 units.
There is a new flashing signal on the Gene Snyder Freeway that will alert motorist to
when the railway crossing at Chamberlain Lane is blocked. It should be on line as of Friday.
The signal will flash when the arms of the railway crossing are down. This will relay a signal
back to the flashing signal telling motorists to continue on to the next exit. When the tracks are
clear the sign lights stop flashing. We hope this will alleviate some of our employees from being
stopped at the crossing and having to wait for the train to pass.
The plant is on a 9 hour schedule for the rest of the year. There have been many
rumors regarding parts shortages and shutdowns. These are not true. Provided there are no
further unforeseen issues we will run the rest of the year.
The plant will participate with St. Joseph's again this year. As a result of your
contributions last year, the plant was able to provide every child with everything on their wish
lists to Santa Claus, in addition to providing a New Year's Eve celebration dinner. St. Joseph's
was truly overwhelmed by the generosity of the KTP team, and through your efforts were able to
make it a very special Christmas for some very deserving kids.
There are approximately 40 children currently in residence at St. Joseph's. These boys
and girls range in age from 6 to 14 and have been placed in St. Joseph's by the State of
Kentucky due to neglect, physical and/or mental abuse. These kids come from a variety of
backgrounds and have found their way to St. Joseph's for different reasons. What they have in
common is that they will not be sharing Christmas with a family this year. Some of the children
may return home someday, while others will be placed in foster care or eventually be adopted.
The collection period for this important charity drive will start on Monday,
December 6th. Donations will be accepted through Friday, December 17th.
We are organizing a committee that will purchase and deliver the gifts to St. Joseph's.
All donations are voluntary, but we urge you to please consider supporting the cause. If you
would like to volunteer, sponsor a child, or donate please contact Mark Baker (429-2291), Mark
Dowell (429-2855) or Takeya Lewis (429-2242).
Dependent Eligibility for 2011: Children and Step children will be eligible for healthcare
coverage up until they reach age 26 starting January 1, 2011. They will no longer be required to
be full time students, or live at home. They may now also be married. If your child is offered
health insurance by their employer, regardless of cost, they are NOT eligible to be on
your insurance through Ford. This applies to children currently on your plan as well as new
enrollees. You can add dependents by calling the NESC at (800)248-4444 or on
myfordbenefits.com. For an effective date of 1/1/11 you must do so by 12/10. Benefits Reps can
be reached at 241-9491 if you have any questions.
Finally I would like to inform you that on December 23, 2010, your UAW leadership
along with plant management will provide all employees a Holiday dinner catered in the plant by
Masterson's Catering. This meal will be a celebration of the Holiday season and a chance for
us to take a moment to reflect on this year's accomplishments. Along with this meal we are
asking all employees to bring in a "canned good" for distribution to
"Dare to Care". This is one of the most generous workforces in the country and once again we
will help provide to those less fortunate. Your hard work and diligence has help lead this
company back to profitability and you deserve to be recognized for that accomplishment. You
are the best workforce in the world and our results constantly show it. Have a great holiday
season.
