Does anyone know if the new production jobs out in stamping (the ones that have the trades in an uproar) are going to be bid plant wide, or restricted to stamping?

Well, what about the list of people with departmental transfers to stamping? Are these assembler jobs, skilled trades jobs, etc... ?

They are MOC jobs. A few years back they were VAT job's. They are going back to being VAT jobs and being bid. It will be an in department bid the first time only. Then from then on they will be plant wide for future openings.
For the record, this is how we have always done bids when we converted a job into a bid job. The people have been grandfathered on the jobs or they are bid in dept.
The reasons for this are 1: to get the company to agree to make it a bid, otherwise they would want to keep it a VAT job to reduce training costs and churning. And 2: so that you aren't knocking someone off a job they have had for a long time or out of a dept. they have been in for a long time, since adding the bid people can lead to a reduction in force since you added heads and still have the same amount of jobs.
Now this case is a little different than normal, but we wanted to stay consistant with what we have done in the past.
