New Year's Day is on a Saturday this year. They are asking people to work.
I think it is only Time and a half because it's not on a paid holiday. Is this true. No way it's straight time right?

Who knows...at KTP, you may owe them money for working that day.

Yes, it would be time and a half. Is it the MOA that does that makes it 1.5? I came from a traditional plant and when I worked New year's Day I received triple time What is the difference now?

New Years Day falls on a Saturday, which we are not working. We get 40 hours of holiday pay for the week...so working New Years Day only entitles you to 1.5 I guess. But I do see why there would be confusion.

1.5 is correct. It is not a paid holiday this year because it falls on a Saturday.

1.5 is correct. It is not a paid holiday this year because it falls on a Saturday. It's paid to you Friday, it's that all-inclusive shut down period.

The contract always has the Holidays Mon-Fri. even if the actual holiday is on a Sat. or Sun. if that wasn't the case then some holidays we wouldn't get since they aren't work days. You ony get double time for contractualy negotiated holidays. So this Christmas though it is on a Sat. will only be time and 1/2 (at all plants that has nothing to do with MOA) The holidays are 24, 27,28,29,30,31 and you will recieve Double time (triple if you wish to count your holiday pay in that) for working those days.
