I am hearing that the lap employees who are wanting to return home will be surveyed as late as March and than will be laid off alone with the other lap employees until the retooling is done. I was told that they would be replaced by other transfers from different plants. At first I didn't believe it until I went home for the holidays and my cousin who works at the Ohio plant inform me that she was surveyed to come to the truck plant here in Louisville in January! Has anyone heard anything like this?

You are probably at least half correct. Anyone wanting to return to LAP will have to be on TLO/ILO prior to LAP re-opening. KTP could not handle everyone leaving at the same time...therefore, some will be laid off each week for a month or two would be my guess. I would expect details to become more clear around March or April.

as of Last Union Meeting, I talked to Scott. Management had not thought that fare ahead. they had not even made a plan as to how they where going to deal with the people going back to LAP.
I did ask if the company was going to let more people than Just RTBU (return to basic Unit) go back to LAP. he told me he has asked several time and Ford is tell him that only RTBU people are the only one that get to go to LAP. At that time, Management had not decided when they were going to survey anyone to go back.
This was almost a month ago, they may have decided while we were on Christmas Shutdown. We are always the last to know!!!!

if we have to take a lay off if we want to back we should have been allowed to bid on all the jobs they posted

Spoke with a friend at OAP this morning. He hasn't heard of anybody there being surveyed to come to Louisville yet.

if we have to take a lay off if we want to back we should have been allowed to bid on all the jobs they posted no cuz youare still an ktp employee, when you respond to a survey and then they lay u off . You are then a lap employee

Word is there will be quite a few bids put up at LAP once those at KTP are surveyed...so they can bid on those prior to coming back.

This is a bit down the road yet, so I don't think anyone has a plan. But, I don't believe you will have to be laid off before you go back. We need the people, so I am of the opinion you will go straight over there when the time comes. Unless something changes that we haven't foreseen yet.

In the last meeting Steve Stone said KCAP people will be surveyed sometime in Feb. Once they know how many will be coming to LAP from KCAP they will survey those with RTBU rights (sometime in March). According to him they will need the exact number that choose to come back to LAP so KTP, CAP & CSP know how many they will need to hire to replace those coming back to LAP.....I took it as if KTP knows 100 are going to go back to LAP, then its KTPs responsibility to hire 100 ppl to replace them.
