Union Meeting Highlights
LAP Union Hall
January 11, 2011
KTP Chairman Report
• Order Bank : Super Duty 31,109; Expedition 7,309 and Navigator 1,778
• Schedule:
o January 1200 Units off end of Chassis
o February 1174 Units off end of Chassis
o March 1350 Units off end of Chassis
The approximately 600 units that were lost on 1/11/11 will have to be
made up, so you will see some adjustment to the schedule in January.
• Snow Day: We did not meet the contractual requirements for an Act of God attendance
code on 12/16/10. Because absenteeism had an adverse affect on production, the dayshift
employees were unable to convert their AWOL. However, we did get the company to
agree to change the codes from "A" to "AN" which will not count as an occurrence. Also,
anyone on dayshift who was late on this day will not be charged with a tardy.
Since
absenteeism did not have an adverse affect on the nightshift, those employees who were
not present on 12/16/10 were able convert their AWOL, as long as they were able to meet
the contractual requirements.
• Skilled Trades RTBUs: 23 Skilled Trade employees had the right to return to their basic
unit which is LAP. The following is the break down:
o Electricians- 19 eligible - 3 chose to return back to LAP
o Pipefitters- 3 eligible - 1 chose to return back to LAP
o Toolmakers- 1 eligible - 1 chose to return back to LAP
I would like to wish these employees the best of luck, and I appreciate their service while
here at KTP.
• TENTITIVE VACATION WEEKS: Currently the company is looking at the weeks of
July 4 – 8, and August 8 -12 for our vacation shutdown. Contractually the company has
until April 1 to officially notify the membership of our vacation.
• William Clay Ford Scholarship: Mark Baker is the contact person for this application;
you can contact him at 429-2291. Those that are eligible are college students who are
entering into their sophomore year. The applications should be available beginning in
March, and they will start accepting them on May 1st. The application post mark deadline
is: July 1, 2011.
