You ,I and the Mail man all know that with only a little over 40,000 Union workers (less then half of the number in 1999) that profit sharing should of been well north of the $5,000. mark. They can kiss my ass. I will work at the pace that they think I`m worth and so should every body else. I bet the upper management get record bonuses.

Someone please tell me why in 1987 with a average profit sharing for over 173,000 Union workers on a net profit of 4.6 billion was $3,700.00 ($635 million in the pot for just Hourly) and in 2010 with a average profit sharing for less then 41,000 Union workers on a net profit of 6.6 billion (of witch north America profits was over 4.6 billion) is only $5,000.00 or just over $200 million in the pot for Hourly workers less then a 3rd of that in 1987. Something changed in the formula behind our backs. Union dollars at work. articles.latimes.com/1988-02-20/business/fi-11406_1_profit-sharing

In the modification profit sharing formulas were changed. No more Ford Credit (They made $2 Billion alone).

Dave...the number of employees Ford has on rolls has nothing to do with how much profit sharing you get and never has. It is based on a formula agreed upon in our contract that is then applied to the number of hours you have worked in that year.
In 1987 hourly workers were working 10 hour days and every other Saturday. Therefore they had more hours to apply the profit sharing percentage to. Now we are only working 40 hours a week for the most part. You are simply not working the amount of hours you used to.
Just wait til some of the workers that were laid off most of last year see their check. You earn no profit sharing for layoff weeks. This is one of the big reasons I went to KTP and didn't want to get laid off at LAP. Not only do you lose $550 a week you also earn no profit sharing. So next year when profit sharing checks are handed out, those that have been off all of 2011 will get nothing.
So before you start bashing the union and Ford. Consider the fact that profit sharing is still being figured the way it always has. You are just not working the hours you used to.

My take on profit sharing, I came to work every week of the year. Got payed for every week of that year. Now Ford makes a profit and is giving me more free money for coming to work for which they have already paid me for. Not a bad deal. I also must mention this would not be possible without Union representation. Don't think I have ever read in any newspaper about the glamorous profit sharing checks that are foreign non union competitors are or have recieved. Doesn't matter if this years profit sharing check was $7,000.00 somebody would be complaining about the free money they are about to recieve.

Those companies publish the amount of company profit they make. Or are you referring to profit sharing they do or do not distribute?

thats bullshit $5000> So now you know what to expect during contract time. Well i wont buy another Ford again since thats how they fell about us> when i saw a supervisors performance bonus check a few months ago for $28,000 and i heard some got even bigger ones. Fuck Ford i bought ford vehicles for the last 13 years and 6 out of 7 of them where a piece of shit and cost me alot of money for repairs so i finally went outside of Ford and got 99,000 miles on it and has never been in the shop but it is a UAW made vehicle. i was going to get a new explorer but fuck them cause why should we be loyal to them cause they sure ain't loyal to us. we the hourly make ford

Shortee go hop on your "short bus" and go work for the other company that made your vehicle, you crying trader. I would love to hear all the whining and crying going on if times get really bad again and have a major lay off. How many people would be complaining about ONLY getting $5,000.00 of bonus money??? I think back to working for $6.00 an hour and honestly going home more sore from working at that job than I do at KTP and I thank the Good Lord for my job everyday... I get mad sometimes and have bad days like everyone but for the most part, we are truly blessed. Go to most any other factory or business in this area and offer to trade jobs with the average Joe there, dollar for dollar and job for job and I guarantee you would not be turned down. I learned a long time ago not to take things for granted and to appreciate what you have, some of you need to learn the same thing...

Calvin@KTP I don`t think the national UAW will agree with you. TonyV was right about the contract modification. Ford motor credit was taken out of the formula.
And the number of people does count. You divide the total number of hours worked by all eligible workers into the amount sit for profit sharing. The more hours the smaller the % factor . The amount of money in the profit sharing pot is determined buy net profits to % of total sales.
I called the national at 10:38am this morning to see if TonyV was right and they said not only was he right but if we still had Ford motor credit we would average over $10,000.00 this year.

You guys don`t get it. Mulally is a great CEO but know man is worth the same or more as his 40,000 plus workers that keep the company running. Mulally will get as much as $400 million to $500 million by him self while us 40,000 plus get a total of half that amount. You guys don`t think much of your selfs or think Mulally is a God. We need to save our money and strike this year if we don`t get the respect we deserve come contract time. www.freep.com/article/20110128/COL06/101280382/1204/business0102/Tom-Walsh-Can-Ford-cope-after-Mulally-
