Did Ford do it out of the good of their heart or did they cut a deal on the 'Equity of Sacrifice' grievance that is supposed to be heard in February?

TonyV,
I think you are correct. They know they are probably going to have to pay up. So this is just part of it.

Yeah, for FoMoCo to allow King to toot his own horn is quite sickening to say the least. Would our employer really do the I-UAW a favor?

;DSemi-pro.. You are kidding right??? It`s not that we aren`t happy to get $5000.00 It`s that we know it should and could be more then double that. And all because a fell (some UAW (B. KING) reps and Ford (MULALLY)upper management ) Want it all. FUCK THEM !!!!!! . They will rot in hell for their greed. We need to stand up for our selfs and not write stupid shit on this and other boards. I KNOW for a FACT that both the union and top Ford officials read what we wright to get an ideal of our morale level . Your comments just give them fuel to screw us with confidence that we will not fight them on the issues.

Lncero I`m not an ass we just need to be adults and show big business that we are in charge. We are the business. Strength is in numbers. History always supports that fact. This is the time to show them that we are serious.

Dave, I am just trying to bring some levity. If anybody should be bitter, it is I. But you know what, I take all the money they give me, and work all I can, because it could be worse! And the name be Lucero. ;D

Because at the end of the day, Ford is gonna do what it wants and the IUAW will do what it wants.

Everyone does understand one BIG thing though...the I-UAW does not have the same contract we do...right? What does that mean for their profit sharing? They are probably still under the old formula...they probably all got 10-15k.

Scottr@ktp. You are oh so right !
I had mention in a early post that I knew something for certin...that was because I know two people that work in Detroit.
One is a sales rep at Ford HQ the other with the IUAW at a low level but still has been very reliable on information in the past.
The perks that my friend gets at the IUAW are amazing. He makes a little less then we do but his bonus last year was "$1845.68" before taxes I`m thinking WTF. He is always telling me that we are being treated like unwanted bastard children at the IUAW . They give us just enough to keep us going but not enough to make us fell the love (BROTHERHOOD).

They never gave up the Holidays we did, the raises, COLA, none of that shit...they still get it all and then some. So I can't imagine them getting the same profit sharing formula as we do.

>:(So let me get this right...They don't have to pay out as much and they have fewer people now to pay it to....Bob King is a joke! But Im sure he got his!! He went from saying the other day that we wouldn't be satisfied with anything less than what we got in '99 to "trying to smooth it over with the Ford Credit crap". By the way I had never heard that before. Just like everything else around here. You don't hear it till they have already set it in stone, and they have already got theirs'. I am referring to Mr. King and some others up top. What a joke!!! Who is suppose to look out for us anyway!! Thats right there is no one......

I think all the UAW members should vote on who the IUAW president should be. I sure as h*ll didn't want Bob King. If he wants to sell us out the best way to reward him is to vote the contract down and make him look like an a**. Wonder how you look in the public's eye when your own membership says go to h*ll.

This attitude is exactly what is going to be in the plants when the $14 an hour workers arrive. Except they are going to be saying these things about us.

It will suck working with people making half. We all know they deserve what we make. The mood in the plants will suck. I don`t see this going away in the contract but it needs too.

You are absolutly correct abou that. I used to work at a Visteon facility for a while. They had a bunch of temp workers on the line with us. I can tell you first hand that it starts off great. They are all smiles willing to work their asses off for a chance to be full scale. Then the reality sets in that it will be years or never. Then they get pissed and the animosity sets in. The work place becomes a war zone. Only instead of everyone being pissed at managment....it is Temp vs Full time.
