KTP is my home plant. When will LAP start the new product and how many people will they need? Iam hoping to get a chance to go to LAP. How many people are layed off in the ford system and is the plant in Indy still closing? Someone said KCP is allowed up to 250 to transfer down. So if I could get some # and dates that would be great.Do you think they will hire off the street if so how many. THANKS

Too early to tell on all points:
1) KCAP will be surveyed to follow their product first. That survey has not been done yet so no one knows a number to transfer. It is assumed to be small due to them getting a new product.
2) After KCAP has been surveyed, All people with RTBU rights will be surveyed and put on a list to return by seniority. This includes the ones on ILO, the ones that transferred to CAP, KTP, etc. No one has that answer because the formal survey comes after KCAP.
3) Per volume 1, page 219, the order in which everyone else falls in order is explained. From protected status employees to ILO in-zone(Indy,etc.), then combined out-of-zone preferential placement list, etc.
As far as KTP home plant employees signing up, there are many variables:
1) If any KTP employees are laid off on ILO they fall into step 2 of the preferential placement arrangements. Any other active employee at KTP(With KTP as their home plant) may not be able to sign up. KTP will need people at this point, not lay off. The last word will come from Scott Eskridge. As building chairman- he will have the last say. If LAP needs additional employees after the preferential placements and they have a job posting, Scott will be able to answer at that time if anyone will be allowed to sign up to go to LAP.
2) As always, if allowed, understand they would go to 'available work' at LAP. (Usually the remaining jobs.) The same was applied as I came to KTP. I went to 'available work' in U-trim and have been there since.
I hope this helps.

Thanks Tony for the info. I also work in utrim. Iam on b crew and cant stand the hours. That is one of the reason for looking to go to LAP. Do you know when ford will hire for the second shift and about how many people off the streets. I was looking for a time frame and numbers. Please look into your crystal ball. lol. Thanks again.

I would take the time to go to the union meeting Tuesday, Feb. 8, at the KTP union hall and ask the building chairmen for yourself. They will have the most up-to-date information. Why not hear it from the horses mouth - so to say.

As far as KCAP being surveyed, yes they have been unofficially surveyed just as we have at KTP. The result is that there were sixty people that said that they would follow their vehicle, and this is before KCAP was informed that they were going to get retooled with the some $400 million. At least that is what my sources are saying.
