Dear Scott,
Please do not allow KTPers the opportunity to transfer to LAP, they belong in this shithole. My pathetic seniority has been buttfucked enough this past year and a half and I would appreciate my well earned opportunity to return to my home plant with at least a little hope of a brighter future.
Thank You, Nuwanda

With the high price of gas these transfers should be allowed before we hire off the street. There are going to be plenty of good jobs to go around, just maybe not your favorite shift. And don't forget, when the three shifts start, no OT, just Saturdays.

95, they are not as fun as me....not even close. I am number one. By the way, "fun" means loud, obnoxious, nonstop screaming, asshole who sings Michael McDonald's greatest hits for 8-10 hrs a day.
'I keep forgettin' we're not in love anymore. I keep forgettin' things will never be the same again.' Make sure to mix in Warren G's "Regulate".

Why should KTPers come to LAP? That is bs!! Because they allowed over 400 of LAP workers to come to KTP when we could have been on the streets looking for work!!! For that I am very grateful...with that said I can't wait to return home to HAPPY LAND!!!

KTPers should get the chance before anyone else outside of Kentucky (except KCAP) IMHO. It's only right...and change does the body good. My message to anyone contemplating the transfer...don't be stuck in a paradigm...accept the change. Spending all your time at one plant is quite unhealthy for the mind/spirit. Best of luck to you all! The ones that chose to leave LAP that are hating life at KTP...they still made the best decision. It beats posting on the LAP board that my UI is messed up and my SUB is nowhere to be found...not to mention the drop in monies. We made the right decision.

I totally agree Scott. I think KTP people should all get the chance to go to LAP. We are all under the same local and if there are openings at the other plant, people at KTP should be able to fill those positions if they want. The quality would be better if they didn't try to build the new vehicles with so many new hires any way.

Scott Eskridge risked a lot to accommodate people and let the LAPers sign up by seniority to come into his plant. He could have just taken the lowest seniority into the plant and wiped his hands of the mess. Instead, he did let us sign up by seniority - causing a bad reaction with his KTP brothers/sisters. His election is in May, I believe.
It is my hope that Steve Stone can accommodate the KTP transfers and return the favor to Scott Eskridge. I firmly believe KTPers should be able to sign up by seniority in this instance. It is one local - let us act like one, finally!
Scott Eskridge will always have my support for doing what he feels is right, not just contractually bound.

Tony V, Do not really understand you when you say Scott risked a lot. Seniority always has first rights in such a move, anything else is blastfamy. KTP wanted low seniority trades to come over when they were needed here. The senior employees at LAP went above the local to make sure the contract was followed correctly. That is how it supposed to be done. There was no risk involved there.

In the late '90's, many at the bottom of seniority were laid off and they were able to go to KTP . No such offer was ever given to sign up production workers by seniority to go over. The lowest got laid off and luckily KTP was hiring. I personally asked to sign up at that time and it was denied.(Because they would have to have surveyed the entire plant by seniority) I asked our building chair at LAP personally.
Just like 2008, I WAS NOT GOING TO BE LAID OFF!!!! My seniority would have kept me working at LAP. I was allowed this time to sign up by seniority within the plant at LAP to come over to KTP.
...And for the record, we WERE NOT brought into KTP from layoff by seniority either. Those with middle seniority were brought in last and put in U-trim with myself. Of the 414 on layoff, I was 212 or so. But I was in the last class that entered KTP.
I am on the seat belt job on line 4, u-trim, day shift. Please visit if you wish to call me a liar.

I hope some of you come back. We need more people to post on the LAP forum, I post on the KTP forum because LAP doesn't get much action. If any of you want to transfer to LAP, WELCOME, WELCOME, WELCOME.

Never called you a liar TonyV if your last post was pointed at myself. When you were denied to transfer by seniority you were denied a contractual right. I myself was not laid off at OAP when I transfered to KTP. Neither was anyone else from OAP or LAP.(Lorain) Atlanta employees were surveyed by seniority as well were the employees from MAP. I'm not trying to create an argument here, local 862 seems to be always making raw deals at the expense of its union paying members.

Beenaround, correct me if I am wrong. When trades came to KTP from LAP we had to take them by high seniority. When you went to LAP as a skilled trade, I believe LAP took only low seniority trades, not offering to senior trades . But now it is blasphemy?

That is correct Scott, and let me tell you that was another one of the raw deals dealt by 862. I argued the point with the local but they went their own way. I surely regret that I never took it to a higher level then. Wish I had some more backing from the others that went over. Should have gone by seniority survey first, and then low seniority to be forced. Not only were we pitted against (J.G.)(I think you know who I am referring to) but also HR was ramrodding right along side of them. I surely am not saying 862 is the only local with bad deals. I saw plenty while at local 2000. Just not quite as blatant as this one.
Gotta throw B.D.(building chairman at the time at LAP)in there also. He had a hand in as well as M.A.(building chairman at KTP at the time)

I've been here at KTP for almost 16 yrs now & if given the chance to transfer to LAP, I would take it. Not looking to ruffle anyones feathers, just looking for a change, different scenery, etc....Plus it would be a hell of a lot closer as far as travel time. I've been here long enough to know that I will get a shit job, thats just part of the process.Spent my first 13 yrs in trim, so I assume I'll make it. I would like to think that the people at LAP would welcome me and treat me accordingly. I just feel that before anyone is hired off the street, that us here at KTP would get the opportunity to make the move. It only makes sense. But hey,...... This is FORD !
