I heard from a reliable source Ktp didn't want to allow their workers to transfer. Stone has done Said yes let them come over. Check your sources again brother. At the union meeting, I talked to both building chairs before the meeting. At the meeting, I was the only one to ask Scott a question. During the meeting both Building chairmen discussed this very thing. I talked to both after the meeting also. It appears KTPers may be able to. I have asked Scott Eskridge to send me an e-mail answering this very question. It should be posted here by Monday afternoon. Why speculate when Scott Eskridge and Steve Stone make themselves available to answer questions.

In the late '90's, many at the bottom of seniority were laid off and they were able to go to KTP . No such offer was ever given to sign up production workers by seniority to go over. The lowest got laid off and luckily KTP was hiring. I personally asked to sign up at that time and it was denied.(Because they would have to have surveyed the entire plant by seniority) I asked our building chair at LAP personally. Just like 2008, I WAS NOT GOING TO BE LAID OFF!!!! My seniority would have kept me working at LAP. I was allowed this time to sign up by seniority within the plant at LAP to come over to KTP. ...And for the record, we WERE NOT brought into KTP from layoff by seniority either. Those with middle seniority were brought in last and put in U-trim with myself. Of the 414 on layoff, I was 212 or so. But I was in the last class that entered KTP. I am on the seat belt job on line 4, u-trim, day shift. Please visit if you wish to call me a liar. Easy there big fellow, just because you are a moderator doesn't mean you cant be questioned or even be wrong on occasion, not saying your wrong on this one just saying ease up a little. no one called you a liar.

Easy there big fellow, just because you are a moderator doesn't mean you cant be questioned or even be wrong on occasion, not saying your wrong on this one just saying ease up a little. no one called you a liar. I was responding to the blasphemy statement. And you are right in that NO ONE is above questioning. That is what makes this board work. It makes people verify information. The definition of Blasphemy: 1.a.A contemptuous or profane act, utterance, or writing concerning God or a sacred entity. b.The act of claiming for oneself the attributes and rights of God. 2.An irreverent or impious act, attitude, or utterance in regard to something considered inviolable or sacrosanct. ....so since I was not referring to God or religion in a negative way, I, of course, assumed he was saying I was a liar. I know, I should not assume. I was just thanking Scott Eskridge for letting me sign up by seniority to come over. Otherwise, I would not have been able to come to KTP. KTP would have just taken the lowest seniority that was laid off.

I here a lot of people assuming you will get a "shit" job with 15 or so years in. Depending on the shift you want, you might get a pretty good job at LAP. You must remember I believe they will have to bid every job again, once the third shift starts up. I was here at LAP 18 years and got a dream job luckily.

I "assumed" also, I assumed that the blasphemous remark was directed at the practice of using anything other than seniority as a basis for those types of moves rather than it being directed at you. Anyway ,thanks for the clarification....only you would take the time to give us the dictionary definition of blasphemy, & to think they compared you to a flying monkey. LOL

Maybe a definition check could be incorporated here. I would hate to be sued for slander by unknowingly using a word that I wasn't up to date on its definition.

For the record Scott and Steve both discussed this in a public forum. Both chairman want to give people the chance to transfer by seniority. If it gets hung up it will be at a higher level than the plants.
On the trades transfer to LAP. If you remember here at KTP we had already asked the senior people if the wished to go and had that lined up. IUAW then decided it could only be the low sen. There was all kinds of political game playing going on with that decision.
I don't think you will see that with this transfer both sides seem to be on board. But, as I have said before, it will most likely have a cap on the number. May be a high enough cap that it doesn't matter, but only time will tell on that.

No poll was ever conducted on that issue.(Transfer to LAP) B.D. openly admitted to me they did not want senior people at there plant.

Thank you Mr. Kessinger for coming on here to chime in. I thank you for passing the word on to Scott also. I talked to Stone and he said he would e-mail a answer from his side. Thanks again.
