Dear Brothers and Sisters,
The order bank is as follows: Super Duty-39,419 units; Expedition-9,420 units; and Navigator-
2,032 units.
The current production goal is 1,374 units per day which is approximately 9.3 to 9.4 hours of
production off chassis lines.
Today we will be hosting the Bertram Group for a tour of the plant. This is a group of 44 farmers
and related farmer personnel from Wisconsin. They are in town for the National Farm Machinery Show.
This is a group of individuals that are loyal Ford Super Duty customers. Please give them a warm
Kentucky welcome.
Next week, February 21 through February 25, 2011, I will be in Detroit for meetings of the
National Ford and Sub Councils. When your delegates and I return the following week we will report the
proceedings to the membership. Hopefully we will be able to update the membership on the "Equity of
Sacrifice" grievance.
There are two tentative Saturdays scheduled in March. The dates are March 5 and March 26,
2011. Final area start times will be 6am for #2 shifts and 2:30pm for #3 shifts.
Ford Motor Company and the International UAW have agreed to purchase jackets for all
employees as recognition for our great strides in improving quality. The decision to purchase and the
choice of style for the jacket was made on the National level. All employees will receive an order form
from their supervisors or team leaders. Forms are to be filled out and returned to Wes Wilson in room
105D in the gate 6 training center no later than February 23, 2011. To accommodate all shifts there is
also a large blue drop box in the vestibule at gate 6 to drop in forms.
Election committee elections will be held Sunday February 20, 2011, with polls opening at
4:00pm through Tuesday February 22, 2011, with polls closing at 7:00am. A list of all candidates is
available at the Union hall or in plant union offices. Please take time to get out and vote.
The annual UAW Local 862 Easter Egg hunt will be Saturday April 23, 2011, at the KTP union
hall on Chamberlain Lane. The times will be 11:00am to 3:00pm. This is for children ages 6 months to
10 years old. The hunt begins at 1:00pm.
Open enrollment period for optional life insurance is tentatively set for Wednesday March 9, 2011
through Monday April 25, 2011. Once these dates are official you will be notified.
Over the course of the next 8 to 10 weeks you will start to see some improvements in the
Ford/UAW Fitness Center at gate 6. We will start to slowly phase in new equipment to replace some of
the current equipment. Much of the current equipment dates to the original opening of the Fitness Center
and has become worn to the point of causing potential harm to the user. The fitness center is heavily
used by many members and is a great benefit; I hope that you take time to enjoy your center.
Owen C. Hammons Scholarship applications are still available at the Union halls. Three grants for
$2000.00 each will be awarded. Deadline for entry is March 1, 2011.
In Solidarity,
Scott Eskridge
