www.local249.org/breaking_news.htmNow we really know we got #ucked good. So with Ford motor credit in the formula we still only get $ 5,000. Not much too look forward to in the future as far as profit sharing goes. I for one think it`s time we all slow down a Little at work. Still do the best work you can but stop killing your self doing it. The company proved to me what I'm worth with this bull shit formula so why not show them their right.......give them what they think your worth NOTHING!!

Wow ... Un-F$$cking-Believable ...Maybe one of our FANTASTIC reps can chime in on this. And here I thought Bob King got us more $$$$$ out of the goodness of Ford. Damn, .... GM came out better than we did. Again, ... Un-F$$cking-Believable !!!!!! Tell me it isn't soooooo !

I think the author of that is wrong. Ford Motor credit is not included in the formula. At least the math doesn't add up if it is.
I am trying to get all the info. together to post so we can all understand exactly what we need to see changed in the next contract. But, I think the person that wrote that is wrong. It's hard for people in my position or yours to know for sure because the formula requires numbers that are not public info.
I think what he meant to say was that FMC was included in the 50% profit from US vehicle sales part of the profit sharing agreement. It obviously is not in the equation for the payout. At least from what I can see. GM's is lower than ours for the record.

Do we use the same formula that GM uses? If so, sounds like we are getting a screwing.

Ok does anyone know what GM's profit was last year since everyone is mad about it? To be honest I didn't. But, since everyone seemed so upset about it I wondered how much it was compared to their profit sharing.
I agree the amount was too low but didn't understand why GM was pissing everyone off.
So here it is GM made 4.7 billion in profit and is giving $2500 in profit sharing
We made 6.6 billion in profit and are getting $5000 in profit sharing.
So, based on this, why is GM pissing everyone off. We are getting 2x the check and didn't have 2x their profits. So it appears our percentage is better than theirs.
Some articles say $4000 so maybe thats the difference.

How can a bankrupt company give anything? On top of that it's not that much of a difference from what Ford gave us which didn't file bankruptsy.

When are they going to announce our formula percentage so we can figure out how much we are going to personally get?

Even though they filed for a gov't bailout, they still have and work under a contract...and within that contract, it states they get profit sharing just as we do. It really is as simple as that...they deserve their profit sharing just as we do.

“How can a bankrupt company give anything?”30year
The same way the banks gave millions out in bonuses to their executives.
“On top of that it's not that much of a difference from what Ford gave us which didn't file bankruptsy.” 30year
Under other circumstances I would agree, but seeing the way union busting is going around the nation I’m all for giving anything we can get for a union brother or sister right now.

Its not about being grateful its about being fair ! We as a work force did what was asked of us to help Ford..we put this company first to get through the bad times and now Ford seems ungrateful. Is 5 grand nice....YES...will it help me...Yes
But the facts are that GM made less money has more people and we only get 1grand more...That is not fair
The only thing I have acted ungrateful about is the damn Jacket....how bout a hoodie, pullover, cooler something else besides a jacket...we all have 3 or 4 of them already...hell I would have rather had a meal again..at least that was something different

A company filing bankruptcy isn't like you or I filing. They can file and get out of loans, financial obligations...like pention, health care, and they can have courts negotiate their contracts with the union. Ford could have filed bankruptcy too. We were in worse financial shape than GM. The reason Ford didn't file and the ONLY reason IMO was too keep the government out of the board room. In GM's case the government can basicly tell them how to run their business....including telling the excutives how much they are allowed to make. In the end. The union workers at Ford will be the ones who suffer because they didn't file bankruptcy.
