Just heard from my semi-reliable source that Saturday March 5th has been cancelled due to vendors' inability to supply stock.

They just sent the notice out. They do plan to run. Doesn't mean that some vendor wont' pop up later crying the blues but as of right now its a go.
Here is what labor sent out:

I'll plead ignorance here.
But how is it that Ford hasn't been able to get the supplier chain lined up so we can build what we can sell?

Grunt, they have people called "cycle planners" which are apparently people they pay to predict the future and do it poorly. Last year when they were "planning" for this year they told the vendors how many trucks we would build this year based on that. So the vendors set their lines and shifts up for that. Now the number of trucks we plan to build has went through the roof and no one was set up for it. So very few vendors have enough extra parts built up to get them through a hiccup in their production.
Or at least that was the best explanation I have heard.

The Stacker (P-units) and the U-Trim Lane Bank were basically empty all week, having just enough to get through each daily shift. They will have to do some real catch up to make a Saturday work.

Its not that they missed the numbers, for me its that they haven't been able to adjust........Easier said than done I suppose.
