From: Dowell, Mark (M.A.) Sent: Friday, March 11, 2011 9:08 AM Subject: Thank You!!!
THANK YOU!!! THANK YOU!!!
I JUST WANTED TO THANK ALL THE UAW MEMBERS THAT WENT TO THE RALLY IN INDIANAPOLIS INDIANA YESTERDAY MARCH 10TH. IT WAS A HUGE SUCCESS. I KNOW IT WAS COLD BUT THE UNIONS AND DEMOCRATS IN INDIANA GREATLY APPRECIATE ALL YOUR EFFORTS. JUST BECAUSE THE RALLY IS OVER, THIS DOESN’T MEAN OUR WORK IS DONE. WE NEED TO CONTINUE CALLING ALL OF THE LEGISLATORS IN INDIANA TO LET THEM KNOW THAT WE DON’T APPROVE OF THE UNION BUSTING BILLS THAT ARE STILL BEING CONSIDERED FOR VOTE IF A QUORUM IS EVER REACHED. IF WORKING FAMILIES DON’T STAND STRONG IN INDIANA, KENTUCKY WILL BE NEXT!!! THANKS AGAIN TO ALL FOR MAKING THE TRIP TO THE CAPITOL IN INDIANA!!!! I DON’T HAVE EVERYONE'S E-MAIL ACCOUNT THAT WENT ON THIS TRIP. SO IF YOU KNOW OF ANYONE THAT DIDN’T GET THIS E-MAIL, PLEASE PASS ON MY THANKS!
THANK YOU!!!
Mark Dowell UAW / CAP Chairman 3rd & 4th areas of Kentucky mdowell1@ford.com (office) (502)429-2855 (fax) (502)429-2472

True...Wisconsin was a democratic state. They voted in a Tea Party gov and republican senate and the first thing they do is start busting unions. Go figure.
I don't agree with everything most dems are for but they aren't union busters.

This is a wake up call fellow co-worker's. Do not roll over and hit the snooze bar, get up take your old ladies panties off put some boxer's on and get out there and fight. The U. A. W. has made too many of us into Republicans. I do not always agree with the Democratic party but they still fight for us more than the other party does.
I, like a many of you do indeed bash this union. Why, well they bring it on themselves for real. Can you imagine what it would be like in that place without a union? I don't think most in there can. Those people in WI, got there wish, well at least those that are in the union and complained about the way the Democratic party ran things at least.
We, as a nation need to stand up to both parties and take back this country. We fought the British because we had taxation without representation once before and I for one think it is time to do the same again. I DO NOT have all the answer's but I am willing to listen to people who has any at all.

If the republicans continue to abolish unions eventually Bill Ford and Alan Mulally can recieve bigger bonuses and all of us blue collar workers will work for the same wage and benefits as a worker at McDonalds.

I have a MAJOR problem with many that are going nuts about this anti-union agenda, but the many of these same people have no problem voting for retiree cuts, voting in a 2-tier wage system (ridding America of many great paying middle class jobs)...talk about taking care of your own. If you continue to screw the ones which paved the way...and the ones which have not even taken the job yet...where is all the union loyalty? We can at least control our own with a vote, but a majority continue to be all about themselves by screwing over the retirees and future workers. The politicians didn't even have to screw our own, you did. I get so sick of reading all this pro-union love when many of you will stab your brother and sister in the back if it means you come out ahead...SOLIDARITY FOREVER!

We did sellout the retirees and future new hires based on scare tactics from the company and IUAW. We need to correct all of the mistakes we made in concessions. Thankfully, we still have the right to strike. If the attacks on unions continue we may end up losing the right to collectively bargain and strike. Without either we will not be able to recover what we gave up.
I don't believe it is as much about union love as it is about people realizing how workers are being attacked, and that by not standing together we will lose our voice to protect ourselves.
The core of the problem is in the political system with only two partys. This system does not allow workers to have any meaningful say in their own governance. Regardless of what mistakes we made in the past we need to stand together now and make the government accountable to us.
I hope this generation can learn what solidarity is and learn it fast.

We already gave up 8000 good paying jobs...there is no way to get them back. The only thing you will see in the future is the company asking for 21%...22%...23%...and so on. The two party system has nothing to do with this private union's members continuing to screw our retirees and future employees...it's all a result of an uninformed and scared workforce.

Alex Jones is a right winger who also against union, so i doubt thedogg is listening to his show!!!! better take heed to what thedogg is saying, the right has declared a full blow war agaisnt the middle class ( not just unions ) and thr top 1% of the wealth runs this country period....and what the republican gov. are doing now has nothing to do with what we did in our contract the last couple of years.

You are exactly right...what we did within our own private union to ourselves as well as the retirees/future employees is completely asinine to say the least. We don't need anyone from the outside to screw us, we do a good job of it all by ourselves.
