As I'm sure you realize, daily production varies from day to day. The scheduling office reports the daily production numbers actual versus projected. If there is any interest, I could post those numbers. Not sure how many people really care how many we really build per day except upper management. But I'll watch this thread to see if anyone wants those numbers posted.

In spite of what a lot of people think, I don't have time to break down units by engine type, cab size, box length, etc. The daily production report is a simple matter of cut and paste, but so far you're the only one interested. Your supervisor can probably get you the info you seem to need. Sorry.

I'll post about the red ones later...

Come on ktpgal, you know we will never strike...right? Don't think so BUT there is always that possibility...just seems so strange with the economy like it is and the gas prices projected to go thru the roof that people are still buying our trucks...I still have memories of '07 and '08 in my head...I see customer bought trucks and not stripped down corporate ordered ones going down the line.

The economy is bouncing back...people have money and they are spending it finally. Not to mention gas prices are not gonna get as high as they once were...maybe $3.99 max is my guess. They can't let it get over $4 without causing the economy to tank even further than it already has. Good times ahead!

So it will be a hint about the weekly production as the orderbook increases during that off-week

of course we are overbuilding because its a contract year. we always do. its a buffer for the company and a psychological tool.
scott i would like to borrow that crystal ball you are using to predict gas prices. i would also like to ask who the "they" is you say cant let gas get too high. want to see the economy really take off keep gas at $1.50 a gallon. lets ask "them" to just do that!
the cars on the road average age is older than ever before perhaps. people are gonna have to buy cars,no doubt. what 99% of them dont have to buy is a super duty,or a navigator. most people i talk to that dont work with us arent buying new cars right now.where are all the damn things going? i wonder that all the time.

I did a mid-week order bank calculation the Wednesday before the shut-down. While I'm sure the numbers are skewed because the orders are usually posted later in the week, it did show all three segment orders down. Some significantly. SD almost 10k. I honestly am not sure what that means. Whether the orders are truly down that much, or the actual numbers hadn't been compiled when I did the calculations. It'll be interesting to see what they are when I run them Monday morning after a weeks production loss. Two things are certain: If the order bank is DOWN, there are those who will see the number as indicating a downward spiral because of the price of gas and predict many more production down weeks. If the order bank is UP, there are those who will see the conspiracy of Ford building a "pre-strike buffer". (I'm not too sure if Ford wants to build an inventory of orphan units that may not sell because of reason #1) I'm looking forward to running and posting the numbers and then seeing which scenario gets the most posts. If you see the glass as half full or if you see the glass as half empty or you wonder why Alan Mulally has a bigger glass than you do...YMBAFW

Great post Ktpsched, I'm glad you're staying alert while on TLO. I believe that Body and Paint will start early Sunday, the Stacker was empty when I left Friday.

If I remember correctly...the order bank is no longer 'units ordered' as it was in the 90's...it is now a projected number...as price of gas goes up and down, so do their projections. We may actually only have 18,000 super duty orders right now...but they predict many more...just for an example.
