I heard something like that too....except that it was Diesel engines leaking oil as the reason we would be off.

I also heard that we are running low on air bag crash modules with chips from Japan. Look for more rumors like these in the coming weeks.

Ok, we are running out of some things from Japan. The current plan is to run full speed ahead til they can't run full speed ahead. They are searching for other companies to make what we need. And if they find em and then we had shut down or made less trucks for no reason they feel they lose more money that way. So for now still 9.3 and Saturday. But, that could change fast after this week.
One of the first things we will run out of is MAP sensors. That is a small sensor in the air box. They have a plan in place that we can run a few weeks with temporary sensors. And just park the trucks. It is a very easy repair that takes probably less than a couple minutes to fix. And there would be nearly zero chance of that defect getting to a customer. The check engine light stays on and the truck would be abnormaly loud without the airbox on it so its easily caught.
We are also getting word of running out of other things that could be a much bigger issue. But, we will have to see how that plays out as we go forward.
I think Bobnar is going to put a letter out explaining fromt heir point of view today.

And here it was I just thought that this was nothing but a rumor started by some fan that was sitting on the fence watching the tournment because their team got beat. I thought that it was a way to get back at some other team that just happened to be playing this weekend. You know, no work Friday and you will get to stay home and watch your team. Almost laughable.

there has been a campaign for almost 2 weeks on diesel engines...leaking oil. and yet we keep cranking them out...hope this doesn't result in a recall. not to mention the 4 to 6 hours it takes to replace them...OT.

The story I got from Engineering is that the issue is identified as operator dependent (crankshaft install process, ie scratched). Approx. 100 leakes identified. Not sure how many more are in the supply chain, but the issue cannot be identified until the motor is started and the fix is a motor change...
