I have been getting calls from relatives, that they hear ford was shutting down due to low orders and bad economy, and more down weeks in the future weeks to come...

That is kind of the way I heard Ford presenting the reason for us being down this week. They see gas prices currently affecting which vehicles are selling. Are they afraid to admit getting parts from Japan...or is it a combination of both?
They outsold GM, but they dumped a lot to fleet...which is what they used to do in the 90's to inflate sales numbers.
Either way, as long as the housing market is sucking and gas prices are climbing, we are always at a risk of downtime building what we build.
