Anyone heard any figures yet on how much we will get if we win it? It's all or nothing.

Why haven't we heard anything? We can only assume the mediator has yet to determine the end result...or we would have already been told something, right?

I'll go on the record here: We haven't heard shit. And we ain't gonna get shit. I do not rule anything out. It ain't over until the fat lady sings. To have a negative outlook right out the gate is a defeatest personality. You ever hear about "The Secret?" Anyways, I suppose by predicting the worst you will win no matter what. If you are right then you win being right. If you are wrong and we get something, then you still win because you get something. Some people just like to play it safe as they have a real need to just be right. I see this played out more often than not with my fellow employees. Very sad indeed. I, on the other hand, prefer optimism. That way I can at least live blissfully ingnorant until a verdict is handed down. Long term blissful ignorance has got to be better for the mind, body and spirit. Harboring negativity never did anyone any good...period! So, you get to be miserable longer and have a poorer chance of success. If you expect to lose then you will probably lose...

And that folks is today's philosophy lesson. You got it! It is just that I feel like I am surrounded by people who have given up on the fight. I also tend to believe that that probably initially was some sort of Ford Psychological work on us. They get enough people to chant a chant long enough and loud enough and the masses will eventually follow in suit. It is a lot easier to take down people who are despondent and apathetic than people with a fighting spirit. Newly anointed union brothers and sisters of yesteryear way back when the union was formed would find all that boo hoo mumbo jumbo quite irritating and perhaps even repulsive. It says to Corporate Ford just what they want it to say which is that we are weak and easily swept aside because we are busy feeling oh so sorry for ourselves...

Wow, if I believe that Mulally was brought in to do to the UAW what he did to the unions at Boeing..... If I believe the cold hard facts that the company will not settle the grievance because they don't have to ...... If I believe that it is indeed a "buyers" market when it comes to labor in this country today....... If I'm a realist dealing with the truth.... Then I'm "boo-hooing" and "feeling oh-so-sorry" for myself? How so? Maybe If I get REEEEAAAAAAAAALLLLLLLLLLLLY chipper, golly-gee positive about how the union has no weapons in its arsenal to combat what is already happening then it will be all better...... Wow, were you drunk when you posted this?

A buddy of mine keeps telling me that as of now we don't even know what the IUAW has even asked for in this grievence. All he said was it was all or nothing, question remains what is the all part?

At this point - do not expect anything. If they win the grievance it will be used at the negotiating table as a wedge. I do not see anything being given back before then.
The "Modification" was only for the duration of this contract from 2007 until Sept. 2011. EVERYTHING is back on the table in September of this year. Although we should have been given back these items, it is more important to use these items to shield Ford workers from the fate of GM and Chrysler that cannot strike until 2015. It also sets the precedent for negotiations with the Government.
The IUAW is hemorrhaging money and needs dues! If it does not create jobs and unionize transplants in the south it has a very bleak outlook in the future. It had to take 25 million from the strike fund until 2013 to remain in business if you remember.
I for one, say hunker down, save money, and get ready for the fight of your lives in September.
....We will never see a bigger chance of a strike in our Ford career. We will never see a larger public bashing. We will never see more pressure from all sides.(Including the IUAW)

I just heard that as of March 30th, 2011, Ford is not prepared to move forward on the "Equality of Sacrifice" grievance.
I also heard that the IUAW asked the arbitrator to issue a subpoena and 2 subsequent dates for it to be heard.
I stand with my prior post.........

Wake up folks. You have to take what is yours. Injustice is just that no matter where in the world you live. One man took more from our company than 40,000 union brothrs and sisters split. It's approaching the hour to rage against the machine! You're not as secure as you think you are.

I agree wholeheartedly with you Tony V. But it also seems from your post that Ford is trying to stall these procedeings as well. Even though I am putting money back I just don't see us striking this year. Like someone once said, Ford would be losing more money than us if we strike. It's all about those Benjamins Brother.

Wake up folks. You have to take what is yours. Injustice is just that no matter where in the world you live. One man took more from our company than 40,000 union brothrs and sisters split. It's approaching the hour to rage against the machine! You're not as secure as you think you are. I totally agree...love it! Also... Not to get all religious on everyone, but... NEVER AGAIN will I confess or focus on weakness, because the Word says: "The Lord is the strength of My life" (Psalm 27:1) and "The people that know their God shall be strong and carry out great exploits." (Daniel 11:32) So, avoid focusing on the negative and use that energy to find your solutions. Maybe start by putting pro-union people in office that are not CAREER POLITICIANS (especially lawyers) that are prone to being liars and recalling anti-union people like they were/are doing in Wisconsin. Then lets limit the rights of corporations by taking away the same First Amendment Rights afforded individuals in this country. I know, but what can we do NOW to alter the outcome with respect to THIS grievance so that it is in our favor as it should be? That is the question at hand. If we do nothing and just sit back and let the powers that be decide then it is likely they will not do so in our favor. So, is there anything WE can do or anticipate doing that will secure us what is due to us???
