Employees that are on TLO next week will be able to file a one week claim for unemployment.
The benefit period 04/03/11 - 04/09/11 is being established as a 1 week U/I benefit period. The
first day that all affected employees will be able to call the VRU number (877) 369-5984 to order their
benefit checks is Sunday April 10th. This phone listing and instructions will also be noted on the pay order
card that each affected employee should receive from the KY U/I Division early next week. Affected
employees must order their benefit checks by Friday April 15th in order to be timely. Additionally, a very
large percentage of affected employees will also be receiving a new monetary determination notice which
outlines the establishment of a new claim year being opened. This is because not every employee has
the same benefit year beginning and ending date, and therefore many of the old claims have expired and
must be reopened. All former VRU pin numbers should still be in effect. If not, employees are
encouraged to use the first 4 or the last 4 of their SS #'s.
A UAW Benefit representative will be available to answer questions regarding U/I benefits. He
can be reached by phone at 241-9491or in person at the UAW hall on Chamberlain Lane, Monday April 4,
2011 through Friday April 8, 2011, during the hours of 6am to 2pm.
