Do you think all the greedy politicians go without their paycheck if the gov shuts down? I doubt it,but they wouldn't care anyways they are all millionaires.

Politicians will not share the pain. When they became servants of the upperclass they were guarantied to be taken care of in any circumstance. Under Reagan all they had to do was vote NO.

Might we be denied unemployment due to government shutdown? Look at the form you just received in the mail. "Commonwealth of Kentucky". Our unemployment is NOT contingent on the FEDERAL government passing a budget. It is a STATE program. Just as JoePiper stated.

As ktpschd stated UI is run by the state in which you live. In our case the state of KY. However, one of the key resources that the state of KY has is money from the Federal level. Although a shutdown may not affect the ones from KTP. In the event that the shut down last for quite some time it could affect those who depend on the UI as compensation.
