Here was the latest news on the grievance: From the National Ford Dept. Vice President Jimmy Settles: As of 3/30/11, Ford Motor Company has indicated they are not prepared to move forward. Our Legal Department is requesting that the assigned Arbitrator issue a subpoena and two subsequent dates to hear the merits of the case. We will keep you informed on any additional that becomes available. SMS Read more: scottrlap.proboards.com/index.cgi?board=gossip&action=display&thread=9703#ixzz1JW77lewt

I've said it before, and I will say it again. We are all going to get a case of vaseline for our trouble and go on our merry way.

They have swept this under the rug...like many stated before, this will only be brought up again contract time...it should have been settled way before negotiations.

I'll bring it up Tomorrow!!! I agree since we have given so Much already this ought to be settled before contract time.
Isn't Mr Eskridge on the National Negotiation team this Time around?? Maybe we should put the pressure on him form the Local.

I have said it before and I will it again about that damn dog and pony show grievance that the IUAW put in front of us. We are not getting anything. They ask us to give up the right to strike on wage and economic matters only, but that is the only thing we would ever strike on. We are not going on strike for health and safety issues or work standards so to me it was a dog and pony show.
Do what you all want in regards to keeping hope that we are getting any money. It sat on their desk for almost 8 months until Scott asked them up there to tell us something about the grievance. Here are my thoughts and they are just mine but I am sure there are more out there that feel the same as I do.
1. We are not getting any money at all.
2. They will try to give us something to buy the yes vote on the contract.
3. They will make it a highlight as something that they fought for us to get back. This is all taking place as I type this so there is nothing Scott can do at this point. He can and will speak for us when he gets up there but until then and in my opinion we are not getting a dime. This is just my opinion about this discussion and equals a NO VOTE on contract.

I agree Brent, the contract is already done for the most part. There might just be a little discussion on a couple or three small things but the contract is already done.

I believe most of us realize that we are not receiving adequate (to put it lightly) representation at the international level. Maybe Ford employees should hire another group to negotiate on our behalf…

Since a name has been dropped, I want to make sure everyone is aware that anyone on local union leadership (and appointed? I do not have the language in front of me) that tries to find another national union may/will be removed from their positions. Just to prevent anyone from coming on here with their real names and supporting this idea.
By the way, this language needs to be removed from the constitution.

There are only about 40,000 Ford UAW workers, more people show up for a major college football game every weekend. The entire IUAW has less than 400,000 members. That result means little to no bargaining power. Throw in the legal costs in persuing the matter and you have to wonder if it is really worth anything at all.

If I have to hear this BS from ten different people then so does everyone else!
Grievance pay est. 4,400.00 and a vehicle voucher $25,000!
Yeah right and I'll hold my breathe until we get it!
