KTP Chairman Report
• The order bank is as follows: Super Duty 47,397 units; Expedition 10,896 units;
Navigator 1,793 units
• We are currently on a 1,200 unit a day, eight hour a shift production schedule.
The week of April 18, 2011, the plan is to increase that to 1,377 units per day and
a 9.3 hour a shift production schedule. This schedule for the week of April 18,
2011, is dependant on part supplies and could change at anytime.
• The vacation shutdown weeks are July 4 and July 11, 2011. The July 4 holiday
will automatically be converted to personal time unless you go to labor and
request it to be paid. Labor will put out a bulletin when you can do this.
• The employee jackets that were supposed to be passed out on April 18, 2011,
are going to be delayed by 2 to 4 weeks. The supplier is having problems with
getting all the orders produced in the agreed to time frame.
• There were 273 of the 510 employees with RTBU to LAP sign up to return to
LAP. With these employees returning it will open up approximately 40 bid jobs in
the plant that will have to be posted.
• There are two scholarships that are available for children of fulltime employees:
Memorial scholarship and the William Clay Ford Scholarship. Information on
these can be obtained by contacting Mark Baker at 429-2291.
• The launch for Job 1 of the 2012 Super Duty is July 25, 2011. The new Super
Duty has 460 new parts. The launch for Job 1 of the Expedition/Navigator is
August 22, 2011. The Expedition/Navigator has 300 new parts.
• There were 278 serious injuries in the Ford Motor Company system last year, of
those 142 had the potential to be fatal. All were a result of not following the
approved safety procedure. Of the 278 injuries last year 66% were due to slip,
trip and falls. In the last 12 years there have been 19 fatalities in the Ford Motor
Company system with 68% of those skilled trades. General Motors has had no
fatalities since 2005.
• The VRU software is not connecting to the Kentucky Unemployment main frame.
You have two options at this plant: file online or manually fill out the pay order
form sent to you from the state and turn it in to either Royce Epperson or at an
unemployment office. If you file online you must request a check when prompted
to do so by the system.
LAP Chairman's Report
• Steve attended a meeting last week in Dearborn, Michigan for "Chairman and
Plant Managers." The main topic was safety with over 50% of the meeting
devoted to that topic.
• Steve commented on how well the trades and his Safety reps have worked
during this tear out. The whole process has been very safe.
• While in Michigan Steve got to view some of the equipment that will be getting
installed in LAP.
• Steve also went to the pilot plant to view the new vehicle and it looked awesome.
• There will be 35 additional jobs in the body shop sub assemblies. Body shop is
being expanded to 1.1 million square feet of space. There will also be 5 extra
jobs in paint and 50 in the final area. These are due to the work of Ralph Hearns
and Herb Hibbs doing the in sourcing studies.
• Vacation shutdown for LAP will be the weeks of June 27 and July 4, 2011.
• Steve is looking for 8 volunteers for the Derby Parade. Contact Kevin Motley if
interested. He also needs 8 volunteers for the balloon race and bed race.

• The plan is to have two shifts of 1800 people when the plant is up and running.
President's Report
• Thanks to everyone that has been supporting the Rally’s over the last few months.
• The nominations for Executive Board, Building Chairperson, Bargaining Committee
and Committee, where necessary, will be Tuesday May 10, 2011, during the
Membership Meetings at the Fern Valley Road Union Hall. The Elections for the
Executive Board, Chairpersons, and Bargaining Committee will be on Thursday May
19, 2011 at 5:00a.m. through Friday, May 20, 2011at 7:30p.m.
• The Run-off elections for the Executive Board (if necessary) and the Committee
elections, where necessary, will be on Thursday June 2, 2011, at 5:00a.m. through
Friday June 3, 2011 at 7:30p.m.
• At the May Membership Meetings, there will be a Representative from Kings Island
selling tickets for “Union Days”. These days will be July 1st - 17th; the cost of these
tickets will be $18.00. This is the ONLY time tickets will be sold at the Union Halls.

• The Local 862 Annual Easter Egg Hunt will be Saturday, April 23, 2011 at the
Chamberlain Lane Union Hall. The time is from 11:00 a.m. until 3:00p.m., the actual
“Hunt” will begin at 1:00p.m. This is for children 6-months to 10 years old.
• We still have outside covered storage available at the Fern Valley Road Union Hall.

• On April 30th, local 862 will be volunteering to pass out water to the runners in this
year “mini marathon water stop”. This is our 10th year. If you would like to help

at a different location this year. We will be at 3rd Street and Central, just down the
street from Churchill Downs. You must be there by 6:30a.m.
