"We" as in the human species? That recycled oil isn't the crude oil that is refined into gasoline though.

ktpelec. If you read all my past Oil finds you will see that Oil is not even close to running out.
All past oil fields are now filling back up at faster rates then even though possible and new oil fields are being discovered every week as well as ways to artificially make oil at a rate of millions of barrels a day. To many people believe the hype that we are somehow running out of oil. Many people become very rich on these scare tactics.
I do believe we need to find better and greener fuels but not because of lack of oil.

There are many theories concerning the earths oil supply, many of the worlds leading scientists don't all agree how much there is still available. Many do agree though that mankind has gotten the easy to reach oil from the earth for over a hundred years. Only a percentage of that oil can be refined into gasoline. Synthetic oils have been manufactured for decades, but it is not refined into gasoline. I don't believe in oil company conspiricy views. It is supply and demand that drives the price up, and the world demand rises everyday. The U.S. hasn't built a new refinery for decades also. The cost of alternative fuels gets easier to justify as the price of gasoline increases.

ktpelec You might want to do some more research. The link will clue you in on the man made oil I was speaking of. The quote below is right from the scientists mouth. It is only 5 years in the making not the synthetic oil made for decades that you speak of. This oil can be turned into gas and if it were mass produced they could make more then the world needs at a lower price with less pollution. news.yahoo.com/s/afp/20110331/bs_afp/spainenergyalternativeenvironmentresearch"We are trying to simulate the conditions which existed millions of years ago, when the phytoplankton was transformed into oil," said engineer Eloy Chapuli. "In this way, we obtain oil that is the same as oil today."

I don't disagree Dave, there are lots of alternative theories and methods concerning oil being worked on at this time. None of them are close to producing the 20 million barrels of oil the U.S. consumes per day.
