I haven't saw my committeeman in weeks!! When we had the week layoff did we get a handout? NO. When the unemployment had a new call in number did we get it? NO. When we had the unemployment screw up, did we get anything? NO. I have been calling my committeeman since Monday for a day off issue. Has he ever showed up, NO. How these people GET and then KEEP their jobs is beyond me. Does Scott know about these issues, YES. Whatever. Oh, and I'm not hiding, my name is LuAnn Gray and I work in paint on the sealer deck, A crew. My worthless committeeman's name is Mike Stewart. And I'm not the only one with issues. We have had write ups, medical issues, arps issues and the list goes on. My question is. Does anybody care??

My concern is the write ups, if people have been written up and no committeeperson ever showed up what do we pay dues for?

I agree trinitus. What do we pay dues for?? But why aren't they held accountable?? I'm held accountable for my job. If I don't do my job correctly there are consequences. Why shouldn't they be held to the same standards? Anybody??

People , QUIT voting these same people over and over again, they are so out of touch with the people doing a real job on the the line maybe thats what they need , to be stuck out there to and no one to come out when they need help! Some have been at Ford for nearly 20 years and have'nt worked the line more a year, so Hell Yeah, VOTE the USELESS OUT, just vote for the ones you want in, not 25-30 of them,!

Well let me start by saying that I really haven't been that active on here over the past several weeks due to having my shoulder operated on but let me try to answer some of the concerns and if some of these statements are about me as well, then please give me your constructive criticizem so that I may try to improve on it.
Union dues are paid so that each one of us have the right to work in a union shop. Yes, you do get representation and that is so you have someone that will fight for you when you are being violated or feel that your being violated. We are responsible to get information that comes from the union. Not the company. They are responsible for that. I will admit that I have great team leaders in my large area of pre del, shop, repairmen outside and the chassis lines. I do count on them to help me and this they do. I don't expect them to pass them out but it helps everyone get the info asap when important info needs to get out and out like yesterda.
Write ups: NEVER SIT IN A HEARING WITHOUT A REP. I DON'T CARE HOW LONG IT TAKES YOUR REP TO GET THERE. YOUR STILL ON THE CLOCK SO IF THEY WANT TO PULL YOU OFF LINE TO SIT IN ROOM AND WAIT FOR ONE OF US, THEN THAT IS ON THEM. If you as union member sit in a hearing without a union rep, then your hanging yourself. You don't say anything to a boss if you think that its going to get you into trouble. I am even talking outside of work because no matter how cool you think this person may be outside of here, when it comes to you getting into trouble or them getting it, it will always come your way. I just had two friends of mine get time off because of this situation.
MEDICALS: We do have people get hurt in her or outside of here and that is life. We don't place people on jobs, Ford does. We just make sure that they follow the process by the contract which can be found starting on page 68 of the local contract. If we don't then the company will just place someone anywhere they want. Now I know there are issues that happen that some will not agree and no matter what I say whether my statement is a fact or is just my opinion, I am still wrong in their eyes. That is just life and we all are not going to see eye to eye on every issue.
I have my own system when going into my new assigned area. I make sure eveyone has my cell number so that I can be contacted at anytime. I do this as well because there are family issues that come up, issues that come up or you think of that question that you didn't ask when we were talking or just the fact that you can ask the question by texting and that way your not having to wait hours or even a day before you get the next chance.
As a committeeman I have the job of making sure that you have the correct information to the question that your asking. Now you also have the right to go to the bargaining unit if you disagree and then to your chairman if you still disagree.
I hope this helps out on some of the issues but I need to say it one more time. Don't ever speak in a hearing without a rep there and never, never, never sign that paper and I don't care what management says to you. You do that and there is nothing that can be done after that. Always wait for the rep, no matter how long it takes.

I'm not one that has to see my committeeman everyday. Would it be nice, yes, but not necessary. But when I call for him I do expect him to show up. I called everyday for a week, and he never showed. It has been 2 weeks now, 2 WEEKS! Still have not seen him.

It has been 2 weeks now, 2 WEEKS! Still have not seen him. I can see where your frustrations in that would be. I also understand that you would like to see them everyday but that you don't need to. Trust me, I would love to get around everyday to each and everyone of my people but that just is not realistic. That is one reason I put my cell number to each and every person that I work with. At least if I am tied up, I can still respond to the person and get the information that I need until I get there. I have done this for some time now and it just seems to keep everyone at ease knowing that the issue that they have is being heard or read but you know what I mean LOL. Well I hope that everyone has a Happy Easter and enjoy the 3 days off with your family and loved ones.
