The biggest folly of the uber lefties that want to "redistribute" the wealth is that, wealth is distributed in the first place. I know its hard for the lunatic fringe far lefties to comprehend, but wealth isnt distributed, its "earned." Now it may not be earned like you and I earn it, on an assembly line, or on a construction site, but it is earned. And before the crybabies start in about inheirited money, that money was earned by the people that have passed on, and its their right to do with their money what they please. If that means giving it to their snot nosed kids, so be it.
Instead of demonizing people that make a lot of money, some people need to accept the fact that they arent CEO's or doctors, or lawyers, because they didnt put in the work that was required to reach those positions. And by putting in that work in the class room, those men and women, say it with me lefties, EARN their paycheck. Are some of them overpaid, and underperfoming? Absolutely. But so are some of the people working right across the line from you.

no i am not saying they stole the money, this is America the land of opportunity their is nothing wrong with people getting rich, what i am concerned about is how corporation's are cutting the wage's of the middle class while increasing executive pay dramatically, our company is a perfect example, our ceo deserves to be well paid but 84 million in one year please. to them workers are a liability while they are assets. in japan and other countries the executives are well paid compared to the average worker but nowhere near the proportion in america www.cab.latech.edu/~mkroll/510_papers/fall_05/group6.pdf

Capitalism aint perfect, but it sure as hell beats socialism any day. Ever since the mid 1800's the US has had to put up with a welfare system of some sort. If you ask me its the dam leaches of the system that are killing our economy. Example: At the local Wallyworld two weeks ago, the family in front of me at the check out counter (Husband, Wife, & two young boys) all had cell phones, the boys both had new (looked new to me) Jordans and were all wearing better brand clothing then myself. So as they load their Twinkies, sodas, chips and assortment of other junk food on the belt, the clerk totals their purchase to something like $110. What pissed me off was what happened next: Out comes the EBT card. At least the guy paid cash for his smokes. I see occurrences like this almost on a daily basis at any retail / food store. People who are able to work, don't, they leach off the system and live better lives then some of us. They don't have to worry about that house payment, or if they will have something to feed their kids tonight, or if their job will be here tomorrow. Brother if you think the rich are stealing from us, you are blinder then a bat.

More then a few welfare cases cheat the system. Typical liberal response though.

Kind of off Topic here but, I may be jealous of a poor man that is getting a handout but I'll never fear him, he can't hinder my ability. Yet a rich man that has the money and power to sway legislation so that I may never make a decent wage again...thats the man to fear.
The facts are, the number of people recieving unemployment benefits dwarfed the amount of people on Welfare in the last 2 years...

What would you call this? Say the government collects money from taxpayers, turns around, and gives a portion of that to a group that is having financial troubles…Whether it is welfare, or a bank bailout both of these government decisions are a form of distribution.
It doesn’t really matter what we call it, this along with tax deductions and exemptions affect who ends up with more money and who ends up with less. The economic difference between a pure socialist government and America is that a socialist govt controls all money, while the few that influence our economy have to battle amongst themselves to determine who gets what (the bank bailouts are a perfect example, some were allowed to fail while others were not).

Democrat student: "We should tax the rich to give the poor more opportunity." Conservative: "So you'd be cool with me taking some points off your GPA to give the dumb some opportunity, right?" Democrat student: ......".not me, I worked hard for my Grades"
That's a close comparison but not quite right. If both of the students had their papers graded by the same teacher, and both of their final grades were exhibiting their actual efforts, then no I wouldn't want the higher scoring student's efforts to be lessened. However, let's first be sure that both students are being graded exactly the same.
This topic (equal taxation) has been stretched and skewed by the greedy into a socialist theory.
(I believe) Our current tax law should require an equal percentage of all income for individuals and corporations to be paid to the IRS. (With absolutely no loopholes, write-offs etc.) This is a flat-tax rate.
(With this system) If you are a fan of, and truly proud of capitalism as I am you would see that the money you earned wasn't being taxed anymore than any other person, or corporation. Nor should your pride for your accomplishments allow you to prefer to be given tax breaks over others. (If it doesn't bother you, than use that greedy energy in a more constructive way, and make more money.)
What "some" are trying to tell us is that a flat tax rate would screw the capitalists...
What if the income tax rate was actually a flat 35%? -person A reports an income of $1,000,000 he keeps $650,000 -person B reports an income of $100,000 he keeps $65,000 -person C reports an income of $1000 he keeps $650 -person D reports an income of $100 he keeps $ 65
Income taxes suck for all of us, if you don't like the amount your holding after you pay them, use your capitalist genius & guile to increase your bank account through your own efforts, not the backs of others.
