NVSked, also want to say I have never let this happen and the whole BC would be against this, but I don't want to imply this hasn't happened in our history. I just haven't seen or been involved with one and would certainly prevent if i was aware.

justformeknow, We agree the driving jobs should not have been by interview. We were told by the IUAW we had to, but after months of fighting that is now fixed. I will have to check if those bids just came down or are about to go up. I am not sure, but they are now done by seniority. I don't think i ever asked anyone to pat me on the back. I have been doing this job a long time. I am very aware there will be no pats on the back. And to clear the record there were no where near 130 cleanup people. If I read the posting on this job right you still have to interview. If it is seniority, why have an interview?

rky792: The GFCPA jobs are a bid job now and goes strictly by seniority.
When the jobs first came to KTP, it was a selection/interview process and for those that got choosen to do the job, they kept their current classification that they came from. So if the GFCPA people were cut out or they stopped doing those jobs then those employees would go back to the classification they came from.

I would like to have a 100 more peeps under me. I would also like to have more bids. BUT do you realize what a cluster Fuk bidding team leaders would be? We are supposed to be a team concept here. How is a new team leader gonna cover me while I piss? How is he gonna repair the part I didnt get put on? They would have to train 200-300 new people on thousands of jobs and that person would have to be able to hold them all. They could have bid them and said you have to be on the team now to get the job, but that would Fuk seniority again. You can vote no all you want it will never happen in my opinion. The company will never spend the money to train that many people NEVER. Plus all the people who will get bumped and rolled off their team and have to be retrained . Cluster Fuk Well said!

Truth is that even when you elect a new team leader there is/will be a certain amount of set aside for training. In the meantime, the currntly team leader will be doing the job until the new one officially takes over. There is no indication that there would be 200 to 300 people training on thousands of jobs beecause the truth is with the new system, each team leader would have only ten people per team. Of course all of this is not even precedent becaue our local leader's choose not to even put this in our contract. Even before we got our highlight's, the Building Chair and the BC said they would not even talk about making them bid jobs to begin with. Now this plant has always been and always will be a cluster f#$k no matter how it is sugar coated. If the team leader position was to be a bid job, the new position would NOT be giving piss breaks to begin with so I really do not see your gripe there. We are all grown men and women and we were hired to do a job and that job is to build trucks. Some do not want to work and there in lays the problem, both the company and the UAW need to address those problem's so moral can start to go up but until then all we are going to be is a bunch of pruned up bitter assholes.

The thing that shocks me...Bob King and the I-UAW are all about union due paying members. How can they sit idly by while our BC elects to not add over 100 union due paying members. The union is going bankrupt, we need more workers, plain and simple.

Vote no on the local contract as I have and then they will come back to the membership and ask what they want...make them put the team leader issue back in the local and pass it...just the same as the past vote when they took it out.
