Don't let a signing bonus choose the way your going to vote. Lets think about our future. Lets talk to the people that's making less money and inform them, of what Ford Motor Co. is going to do.

If tier 2 was brought to full pay it would be a lot more money during the 4 years of the contract than a lousy few thousand dollar signing bonus. Signing bonus sounds nice, but it is a sellout. You're right people need to be informed.

In reality. Its far fetched to think that the 2 tier system will go away. Its probably here to stay. If we are all lucky they will give us a $2-3 raise.but judging by the unions actions in recent years that is probably wishful thinking.
Also. There is more tier 1 employees than tier 2. So it don't matter what's in the contract. If it don't benefit them they will vote it down.believe me when I say they will get a raise before tier 2 does. It sucks. But we just gotta "lay in there n get it"

And tier 2 employees will remember if we don't get equal work equal pay. We already have to wait 4 years until we make 19.21 an hour. How is that fair. We are still making $9 less on the hour after 4 years of putting our time in. It took 3 years or less for the legacy employees to get to same pay scale as the seniority employees in their time. If tier 2 gets the shaft this time the legacy employees will get the shaft when we vote on their retirement down the road. What goes around comes around.

Well I don't get a pension so what I invest in my retirement is up to me. Ultimately I don't have to rely on the generation after me. I can't understand... The generations before the legacies now fought for the guys after them. The few legacies on here sound like they are just after your own interests. It's pretty sad really

I am out for my own interest first for sure..But I think the 2 tier should be dropped and make all of us equal. That being said if It doesn't I want whatever helps me and my family for the 19 yrs I've put in here.Hell you're talking about voting on MY retirement down the road this place could be moved or closed. And like you I have Tesphe since day one so I think I'll make it no matter what happens down the road...

Buck up little camper. Count on this in the next negotiations. The IUAW will lay out a crap proposal with a $4-6K signing bonus, with a $1500-$2K yearly bonus, with MAYBE!!!! one 2% raise in the life of the deal. Plus a $2 bump to tier 2 workers. Now, the drunks, crackheads, heroin addicts and newbies will see instant cash, and bite. Most tier 1 will balk, as they still want COLA, and yearly bumps in pay. The IUAW will put on the full court press of how plants will close, shifts will be lost, and product will move to Mexico. All the while, the staff at the solidarity house will grow, and IUAW level employees will receive raises.
The members on the floor will be ground into submission by mealy mouthed pussy coworkers who just want to appease their masters, and will wring their hands about..."if we don't take it, we'll get even less"...and in the end, the tier 1 rank and file will end up going 14 years without a raise, IUAW bosses will pad their double pensions, local leadership will cowtow to their superiors in hopes of one day getting the double dip pension, and we'll all just LAY IN THERE AND GET IT!!!
Save your money, make sure your kids get an education so they never have to do this shit for a living, and hope that at the end of your 30 yrs you don't have to go get a job to make ends meet.

Anticipate 2tier to be thrown out if it goes to State labor in any state where strong Hour and Wage laws exist like here in Kentucky,, Several Two Tiers have already been in disuccsion with labor attorneys's about filing complaint. You can't negotiate away a persons right to equal pay for eqaul work without giving them the opportunity to gain full pay for same work classification. And this doesn't mean the 20% rule. It has to be projected to specific time period.

Yeah a couple dollar raise is b.s.! Four or five dollars an hour would help my family. But I'll have a no vote unless there is equal pay for equal work. I thought that was part of the foundation of union decades ago. Makes you wonder what there even doing. Even at that no pension! Insurance isn't as good! What's funny is ford is making record profits. Uaw just got a raise. But the people actually building the cars get shit on and lied too.

I just have 1 question...Did tier 2 know exactly what they were getting into when they hired on? You all need to be humble and appreciate that you even have a job in this economy...I agree it should have never started from the get go but it did and you all accepted the terms by taking the job.

Yes we new. But I guess you also new that when you got your last raise there was no guarantee that you would get another one. I still hear a lot of bitching about not getting getting a raise in 10plus years. I'm not voting for first tier to get a red cent unless I'm where your are. You all voted for all new hires to get half the wage as you. Myself included! You all got fed a line of shit that it was essential there be a two tier system to help the company survive and to get back to profitability. Look at the numbers! By the time ford got back turning a profit there weren't enough two tier workers to save any money. Ford is just padding there pockets and laughing all the way to the bank. Two tier was not needed for ford to get back on there feet!!!!!! Thanks for 1st tiers yes vote.

Actually, there are never any guarantees. But we had it in our contract to get and raises. Like you said, we were fooled into giving it up. Regardless, creating the two tier system is what created most of the new jobs. If you have a job here as a two tier employees, you likely wouldn't without those concessions. And some bad news, two tier works for the company. It's never going to end.... If that's a deal breaker for any of you, get out while you can.

Some of you clearly aren't smart enough to realize it's not just about Ford. It's pattern bargaining with GM and Chrysler. Ya Ford is making record money but the other 2 weren't. 2 tier exists in big part because of GM and Chrysler struggles. And as long as GM or Chrysler have 2 tier then Ford will have 2 tier. And that's just how it is and how's it's gonna be.

That's why, we the UNION need to stay, stand STRONG. WE are FORD MOTOR COMPANY. WE need to let it be known, what we want during this next contract negotiations. Our union need to be out on the floor right now talking, and educating our new employees on the things that are coming in 2015. Myself, I been here with Ford for 15yrs. I don't like the 2 tier ideal.equal work for equal pay. Always thought it was a divide and conquer tactic from Ford. Let not fight and bicker amongst each other, United we stand. One more thing, when its time to VOTE, we really need to show our strength.

I don't believe that. The concessions you all made padded there pockets. There not saving enough money on the concessions to alter there business plan. They made 2.9 billion the last 3 months. (I believe that's right)? They needed more employees to make that money. Whether they brought them in at $15 or $30 there bottom line wouldn't look that much different.

I agree with antbanks. We ALL should be fighting for the same things. Youve got to give props to the company. When they negotiated the contract and the other side (uaw) rolls over and plays dead, they went for the jugular.

They aren't just running a business based on right now. They are running a business that goes through cycles. The auto industry goes thru good times and bad times. They are putting themselves in a position to try and avoid what has happened the last decade. No there shouldn't be 2 tiers but if you think it's just going away then your just fooling yourself.

Taxed at about 45 percent and then throw a little viva in the mix. Doesn't look as nice. Could still use the money though.
