It was actually better at other places I worked because there wasn't any dicks that I worked with..Also motherfucker I've worked for 35 yrs as a welder and paid my fucking dues 20 yrs here...If they don't get my pay right that pisses me off..I'm grateful as the next guy but not to the point that I'm a [YES MAN ] like the new generation..Mind your business and you'll find that life's Knocks aren't as tough take.

Now now now Ex may be right here. If he worked that week it is a very good chance they screwed up and paid him for the Fourth. Keep in mind that he may or may not have been paid a vacation week which will make all the difference in the world. Let me explain that: He got paid for one week vacation, therefore he would have his Fourth of July pay automatically convereted. He DIDN'T get a one week vacation week then he WOULD NOT be able to convert because he didn't work that day. It doesn't make it any better but that is the only reason I can come up with. |

I think our Union Rep. Mr. Sinclair, the Friday before shutdown, told me the list of people that did not want paid and wanted to bank the 4th was turned in to late. So I think he said everyone was paid. He also said you would still be able to put in for a non paid day off. I am not 100% on this, but I think this is what he told me.

Just a little bit curious here Ex-Metalman, I went through the HPS to request my fourth to be banked and it was banked. How did you go about it? Did you work the first week of Vacation as well because I know some who are working still got their Vacation checks when they were not supposed to get one because they was late getting the list up to Labor.
Plus, my Team Leader said I didn't have to go through the HPS and that it would be converted automatically but I decided to bank it through the HPS anyways. I was worried I would get paid by doing this as well but it was banked.

We have a new person in labor that set the HPS sign up for banking the 4th, Scott talked to labor and anybody that signed up or did nothing got their day banked. The person in labor didn't know that we didn't have to sign up.

If anyone has issues with getting paid and wanted the day banked and don't want to go thru the committee person to correct the wrong call Labor directly and talk to them about it. Don't call and be rude or you will get no where. 4292241 or 4292242 if you don't get thru keep trying. They will work with you if you aren't a well known labor visitor.

I've seen them complain all hard-workin-union-blue-collar-like about someone working through lunch on occasion but then they'll come in every fucking holiday, work multiple rdos a year, and volunteer to work shutdown, which is pretty fucking ironic. I'll vote for metalman. He's old school union, and we need more of that. Some talk about times have changed, your right, kinda, but that that's the pussy way out. If we do not fight for our share you'll ver get it. Fords getting 2.3 billion per quarter profit. There's nothing they can say about health care or hourly rate. Granted the haelth will change for the worst, so let's try to get a bigger hourly rate or something.
Like I've said before, if ths union don't stand up now then their efforts to try to get new people into the union will never come to pass. The middle class needs to get bigger, fast. That's what made this country great.
