The entire stock market is based on speculation. Your 401k or pension could be gone tomorrow. Ford could be gone tomorrow. Look at VW's struggles all the sudden and they are the largest automaker in the world! All I'm saying is that we need to get all we can RIGHT NOW!

If it gets that bad, then ford goes under. Then where is our pension??? We can speculate all we want, but it's just math. Pension is insured.

Honestly, it's real simple math. But if you're not sure, don't believe an anonymous go like me on the Internet. Speak with a financial advisor.

This is the first time I've dealt with a contract, so can anyone feel me in on a few questions I have.
1. How long will they take to draw out the next tentative agreement? Especially with a holiday coming next week.
2. Will this one move quicker? If a good deal, will it be ratified by Christmas?

Especially with a holiday coming next week. 2. Will this one move quicker? If a good deal, will it be ratified by Christmas? I'll FILL you in: 1. I would think a few weeks at most, but probably sooner, in my opinion. 2. It's not a good deal unless there's a pony and a 7 day all expenses paid trip to Disneyworld, so no and no. If the next deal is worse than the first one then I'm voting NO. I tried reason and rational thought but I think for the subsequent rounds I'm going to use my feelings instead, so you "anti's" may have just got yourself another no voter. Congrats. Surely we can't fail now because no one has ever regretted acting on their feelings instead of thinking things through right? Like if you're out having a drink and you really feel like punching someone in the face but your mind tells you its a bad idea and will get you arrested, just punch them in the face. You'll feel better for a few minutes, until the reckoning comes. And I'm not making fun of how you misspelled fill, I'm just pointing out that a lot of folks act on their feelings more than rational thought, in my opinion. I misspell stuff sometimes too. Funny coincidence though.

You know, maybe they wont have to do much to tweak the deal enough for passage. Everybody got to make a statement and got the "no" vote out of their system. Maybe all Ford has to do now is give us 2,1,2,1% all in raises, keep everything else the same, and it might pass. A lot of people have gotten a lot off their chests with the no votes. I just hope Sterling Axle and especially LAP stay open for a long time.

Im going to crawl in a whole* and stop asking questions. Don't worry about it man. There was a guy on here a while back talking about how foolish some people were. He kept calling them "fulls". And I'm pretty sure I know who he was in the plant and he graduated high school before I did. I'm guessing he didn't do too well in English-as-a-FIRST-language class. So it's all good brother. You can generally tell people who read books from people who wouldn't be caught dead with a book. Occasional misspelling everybody does, but if you see someone who can't fucking spell anything right, that guy doesn't do much reading, which is usually because he's a dumbass, and is TOTALLY ok with remaining a dumbass. Heel bee da furst too tri too gife sumwon ELSE idvice an wat day shuld bee doin tho.

It's embarrassing how quick I was able to read your last sentence. Damn millennials.
Speaking of misspellings. Checkout the headline about Ford on the front page of the CJ this morning.
Something like " Lousiville Ford......"

Really bothers me that Settles kept telling us not to look at the other contracts because Ford is in an unique position. Then he brings us almost the exact same contract, then tells us at a press conference there's nothing left on the table.

I wish Jimmy knew that ... My guess is they will let us for about 11 days at the end of the year. Great way to save a lot of holiday pay money and not lose any production.

It's ashame this contract failed. This newer generation of workers with their political correctness bs Over all this contract was a good one. People vote no for the wrong reason, a grudge against our international, our local, or some loudmouth on the line. Kind of like how Obama was elected a second term. There will be no wage increase, pattern bargaining will not let the companies compete on wages. You can't always make everyone happy, this contract took cap off of profit sharing, that's huge as Donald would say. The past is behind us, the money going into our 862 plants secures our jobs for a while. While I am not able to say what is coming to our plants for confidentiality reasons, I believe voting it down was a mistake. The public already thinks we make too much money, then a 10,000 signing bonus, back pay from September 14th till ratification. People should go vote with their brain and not their heart. I realize that this doesn't apply to everyone. I have heard way too many kids say they were voting no way before we knew the terms of the contract. These kids/coworkers are recent new hires still living at home with mommy and daddy. A good example was local contract... People voted no just to piss off our local. Just my opinion

The company knew what they were doing when they created the 2nd tier. It's divide and conquer, some of us saw this coming from 500 miles away. The UAW should have never given in on that (I voted no back then for that reason BTW). The whole point of being in a union is so that we can all stick together and fight together for better. Hard to do that when you have different pay scales/benefits for the same work. Also, when the two tier took effect the UAW raised dues to compensate on the money they lost from the 2nd tiers lower hourly wage. I could go on and on but my point is anyone with a gripe with international is justified IMO. I don't like how Settles threw the membership under the bus to the media the other day. He should have been more professional and remember: HE WORKS FOR US!!!!

I wouldn't call new hires dumb asses. They are smarter than the people who voted yes to the contract. they know right from wrong. They know the union is handing us a shitty contract and they voted intelligently.
