I saw in another article (can't find it now) where Settles said that the very best part of this contract was the investment Ford plans to make in the US in the future. So in other words, the very best part of this contract is based on the good faith of the company?? Is that what you're telling us Mr. Settles?

So JS our lead at Ford is telling us and Ford motor not to expect anything MORE and probably get LESS if we don't pass this contract. And he said that out loud ?? OMG. We are doomed by incompetent leadership Way to make Mark Fields job so easy.

It has been known for quite some time that LAP is getting an on site stamping facility (I was told two) and maybe lesser known is that we are getting a sorting facility nearby. This has been in the works for a while (it takes time just to get the permits, etc) and I doubt very seriously that it is contingent on the ratification of this contract.

This clown acts like he's negotiating a lemonade stand business for two eight yr olds. I bet if Ford would agree to can his ass the contract would pass. Seems our beef is against UAW leadership, not the company

Same stuff Williams said before the 1st Chrysler draft failed. Also Settles said just 2 weeks ago to pay no attention to the other contracts, that Fords would be much different because they were in a much better position.

Watch this first... www.detroitnews.com/story/business/autos/ford/2015/11/18/uaw-ford-local/75991308/Think about this for a minute...say the IUAW rolled out a contract to us and the company decided to hold a press conference telling the workers that the offer the union brought to us was simply not good enough...that we should vote it down and make them come back to the table and negotiate for more. It's comical to even write, but isn't that basically what happened at the Settles press conference...in reverse? If you have not seen the video please watch it. Why are we friends with the company. The basic press conference should have said something along the lines of..."If our membership doesn't like it, we go back for more, and if this is the best we can get then prepare for some downtime". Are we not in negotiations...If the first offer is the only offer then are we really having negotiations?

He's more or less throwing the membership under the bus and siding with the company at this point. For me this is as much about bringing the union leadership back to reality as much as it is gaining pay/benefits.

He pretty much says pattern bargaining means one deal for all 3 no matter how shitty one company ( chrysler) is doing the others must always fall with them. BULLSHIT

Yep, and the fact that they negotiated with Chrysler first speaks volumes...

J S is a true Socialist. Let's not reward achievers and their company for good choices and hard work . It won't be fair to the losers. Life's not fair Jimmy. It's easy to be a socialist or communist when your base pay is 2.5 x that of those whom you supposedly represent. You'll see more socialist bumper stickers on the cars at Whole Paycheck, I mean Whole Foods grocery store than anywhere else. Mr. Vice President of the IUAW is, unlike us working class folk, rich enough to embrace socialist ideas that result in a two class society of haves and have nots at the expense of the middle class.

If that's the best he can get from Ford maybe the union should hire Mr. Mulally's bargaining agent. Seems he got Ford to pony up with pay and Benefits

Seems he got Ford to pony up with pay and Benefits He had skills and experience that the board of directors determined was worthy of his salary. Not to mention, many other companies coveted his services and would have paid him the same. Can we say the same?

Why so defensive and personal? Geez Not defensive, or personal, Just facts. And without question, Ford is going to have better negotiators and Lawyers than us. With that said, our guys came away with an offer from Ford that would make us the most highly compensated workers in the American auto industry, with the best job security.

I just don't understand why a Vice President of such a large group of people would totally act like he's a fucking a CEO of Ford?Even IF he's for the contract and passing it don't you end the Show with "I will leave it up to the hard working men and woman of the UAW and will honor THEIR DECISION??? Fucking act like you care about the 2/3s that voted fucking NO!!He is such a loser...And where is Williams???He should be begging ..oh wait he had phone duty ....wink wink ..Under the fuckin desk..This is why SOME people will say fuck it when RTW COMES TO KY..I won't just because of the poor mfers before me , but I fully understand if you do..
