SUV paint and body getting rid of C-crew in December. Going to 2 shifts 5 days a week. Notice will be posted officially this week or next..

That should stop all the complaining about not getting 40 hours in. Some weeks new paint will get Fiddy. Lay in there and get it. Welcome to the "REAL", Ford Motor Co.

My understanding is that low seniority will be displaced from old paint by people with more time in new paint
You can not team transfer between the two but shift preference crosses back and forth.

The departments are separate but body and paint separately are one natural work group.

I was told before I left old body"if I get bumped off dayshift in old body ,but a person with less seniority is on dayshift new body I can't bump them because it's (2) different depts..

Unfortunately every time someone asks, the union tends to give a different answer. So, when are we getting a copy of the current contract? It's been almost a year under the new national and I still haven't gotten my copy. |

There are (5) copies in the union office if you want to go there & look at it. Also can be found online with a simple Google search. If you cannot read online you can always print a copy to have at your disposal. If unable to print at home you can go to UPS store and they will print it for you for a small fee. |

After 3 weeks we will barely get 40. I don't think so. You gotta remember the big house will be running all weekend while paint is idle. I can tell you one thing for sure. If you're on B crew get ready to go the full 10 every Friday night |

What happens say on a Friday night SUV paint has a terrible night and stackers not full then they build suv's all weekend and run out of SUV body's? They we be calling people in the middle of Friday night telling them they have to work the weekend. Get ready to hear " they can do that".

Hours won't be zeroed until then & doesn't look as if they will be settled for some time. Eventually international will accept the contract even without skilled trades passing it but we are still a bit away from that happening. |

Sorry folks but the olden days where the union spends a fortune printing enough contract books to hand out to everyone on the line have been over for a while, probably because most people wont read them anyway because it's too much trouble for them. If you didn't already know and since there were several post saying people from SUV Body were not able to roll to New body because of separate departments. This is not the case there are several people on C crew that rolled to New Body that had high seniority simply because they wanted to stay on C crew. Body shop is still one department but they are considered different teams.
