My opinion and probably 100% wrong but here goes: Ford stock has taken an absolute beating since the new ceo got appointed. He was hired specifically to increase ford stock price. The easiest thing in the world for him to do to increase stock price would be to come out and say “ I’m cutting major hourly jobs at ford”. He hasn’t done that. I believe they need all North American plants that make trucks and suv’s Running 100%. Like it or not and Ford did it to their self the newer people in the system are not dependable. I watch them walk new hires in by the hundreds to replace the ones quitting and go to lunch and not come back.

The auto industry has always been finicky in the stock market. Ford is currently still building their plants to 100% production, for example SUV 3 crews. Once LAP gets retooled for the electric escape they will go back to 3 crews. When we get 100% then the lean manufacturing will kick in and cuts will be made. As long as the economy stays strong I think this contract will stay consistent with a few carrot enticements. If the economy makes a slight shift downward look out. I think the next contract will get interesting, the new hires will get close to top out pay and that’s when they will want work force cuts. The cheap labor will no longer be cheap and the large percentage of careless workers in this new generation will not allow ford to give a second thought to cuts unfortunately. Which is sad because there is a percentage that really want to work.

LAP is not going back to 3 crews. If it does it will not last. Too many other SUVs coming out in the next 2 or 3 years....all will be built in Mexico

If I only top out at 25/ hour im outta here. Also I always think in the back of my mind they are using us low paid people to make a killer profit then get us outta here once we make higher pay and labor gets expensive. Then they can just rehire and or hire temps.

I don’t think they want you all to go anywhere.I just think that your “Top pay” and ours will be different. If I ran this place I would never let the in transitions reach 30.51.But I hope I’m wrong.Dont see a person quitting cause they make 25.00 .But hey I’m on your side.Never Should of been 2 tiers and I honestly don’t know a single person that voted for it.

It creates a lot of hostility in the workplace when 2 employees doing the same jobs are making 2 different wages. Ford and the UAW know this. That being said the big 3 will never give it up. As soon as the legacy people retire that wage is gone.

As soon as the legacy people retire that wage is gone. But I do understand some type of pay increase structure for newer hires. Just not 8 years. I feel like I bust my ass every day like most in there do. My hands and body have felt it lately. This line speed and B crew truck number weve been wearing me down lately. 3 years in and making 21.65. As bad as it sucks and it does suck working here the benefits for families are great and a good 401k.

Ive worked plenty of Sundays on A and b and c are slave shifts compared to A. A gets all the perks. The most absurd thing about any shift difference us A gets double pay on their overtime day and we get 1 1/2. Its complete shit.
