A raise spread out over the length of contract? Going on 8 years and finally almost topped out. Now it could be 12? I might be "legacy" around retirement at this pace.

I hope we get what they’re asking for $47.17 an hour! Plus COLA. Hell we might hit over $50 an hour at end of contract

That’s 10 minutes per shift/20 minutes a day/roughly 2 hours a week of line time we gave them. At 100 trucks an hour and $10k profit per truck…that’s $2million a week/$104million per year…roughly 1.5 Billion the past 15 years and guess what….that’s just our plant. They can cry poverty and you can believe it but do the math

Where are these 32 hour work weeks coming from? Is that a different way of saying OT after 8 hours? I don’t think majority of members want 32 hours a week unless we’re at like 50/hr

I don’t think majority of members want 32 hours a week unless we’re at like 50/hr Do the math: 40 hours @ $32.00/hour equals $1,280.00, 32 hours @ $42.00/hour equals $1,344.00. Net gain equals $64.00. Wow! Thanx Mr. Fain! Be careful on how you perceive things!

I’d LOVE to work 4 /8 hr days..A lot of countries have a 32 hr work week .They also have the best benefits, vacation, wages.Prolly also catering to the new generation of workers? There ZERO CHANCE of Ford agreeing to 32hrs a work week.

I was comparing what a person working 40 hours @ $32/hour versus working 32 hours @ $42/hour. That shows how the Big raise would amount to squat if both "wants" were to become the norm.

If we go from a standard 4x10/5x8 schedule to a 32 hour week, would we receive 80% of 32 hours? It may not go away but the language will have to change.

Just wanted to illustrate that working 32 instead of 40 is not that lucrative of a deal even if a $10 raise were to be put into place.

Curious, How many hours a week do most work in the SD bodyshop per week now? 40 hours seem to be a rarity anymore.

Could just be a new leader trying to make a splash and play hardball but seems like a strike is more probable than not.
From upping strike pay, no target company announced yet, Fain saying no extensions, etc. I think this is going to happen

I feel the same.Hopefully it’s a 3 way strike.I wouldn’t pick a target.It’s the BIG 3 after all 🤔.

Although they said there’s only 10 days worth in the strike fund if all 3 strike simultaneously. 10 days isn’t long enough to change the company’s mind IMO. I have my time in but work in final still by choice. I’d say majority people can’t go more than 2 weeks without pay. 6 week strike like GM did in 2019 would make for some real hard times for everyone.

UAW says $800m in strike fund. 150k members at $500 a week is 75m per week so there is a 10 week strike fund if everyone goes out. He will pick few plants that cause the others to shut down, those plants will go to lay off (UI/Sub) can go months that way. $500 a week isn’t much less than take home pay for a lot of people would think most could stay out a long time. Good luck/stay safe

Ok I misheard weeks and days. That’s a good sign then. Wouldn’t the $500 be taxed and actual take home would be like $325?

Union dues are not paid while on strike.
