i don't even know if i would go that far. i think there has been a certain level of incompetence. which lad to alot of us being put on ILO. it also led to many of the unions leaders endorsing even more givebacks last fall, which were clearly not needed as evidenced by ford reinstating many salary benefits after we turned down the proposal....but i don't think they lie to us. |

It would definitely get pretty ugly should they close LAP after all this crap. The main reason I left, commercial trucks are necessary...just about every other vehicle can be replaced. KTP should have a bright future unless they move their products elsewhere. I like my chances to get 13 more years at KTP.

I know it is all rumors or hear say but talking to a local Contractor who is trying to bid the retooling work at LAP and they were told yesterday... It may not happen now! the guy at the Contractor asked me if we had voted down a contract.. hmmmm. the last concessions that didnt pass. he also mentioned operations in Mexico instead Why would he say that? Was his bid too high for Ford to even consider? Is he upset they turned him down, so now he want's to start a rumor? I don't even know this guy so I won't assume he knows what he is talking about. It could be that Ford already has all the people they need for the retool. It could be laplap just want's to start another rumor to get most people on here stirred up. I just do not know. It is possible that Ford won't tell the UAW much of anything just so they can get more ass rippings from the membership later on. Right now it is all speculation and rumors. As for our last contract modification vote being turned down, well hell that has been all over the CJ. Moving operations to Mexico, it could happen. Look at what LAP will be building, it could very easily go to KCAP. Maybe this is just a ploy to get more people to sign up to go to CAP. I say do a little more digging before you decide. |

Look, I was shocked to hear this this morning myself. I have family that has worked there over 20 yrs so I dont think it is just to get something started. My first comment was that it was RUMOR and HEARSAY!! I thought I should share this cause so many are trying to make decisions about CAP. When I get an update I will keep it to myself! Some thing are best left unsaid

I would say maybe it is Ford's way to try to get more people to sign up. However, I just do not believe what a contractor says that 1. has not gotten a confirmed bid to begin construction. 2. He is only in the process of trying to secure a bid. 3. The information laplap has gotten could be way off base and by posting it here may scare people into siging up to go to CAP before the deadline ends because once you sign up you cannot take your name off the list. 4. Most people take what is written and posted on here to heart and believe it is the truth without ever trying to find out the correct information on their own.

A couple of years ago we at KTP were asked to go to LAP, I didn't need to ask anyone because I knew I was going to sign up. When the time came for me to return to KTP it took a lot of decideing to come back because I do not want to be here. My decisions were based on what I have learned from both the plants here. The ones that came from LAP this time last year did so based on facts that they had at the time and most I believe made the right decision to come here. I hope they don't leave KTP but They have to make their mind up when the time comes for them next year. If it comes to me making a decision to go to CAP because of the in zone bumping, I will sign up to go. Not because I want to but because I know I have a family to feed. I will do it for them because it is my duty as a husband and a father to do so. I do not care what everyone else say's I truely believe most will do the right thing for their families. I do not believe every post that is put on here because let's face it most are wrong. Believe it if you want to but I tend to see people wanting to put something on here to do no more than get people stirred up just to have them get their damn jollies. If you do not like what I say well then tuff shit. I will not put something on here just to see people scram for any little bit of lies to because I am bored.

With all the past years ups and downs in the economy who knows? The future of LAP has been a topic for several years now, supposidly Gettlefinger saved it a few years back. I hope for everyone involved something would move in the positive direction. What does eveyone think, is the economy getting better? Would you buy a new car?
