Sorry guys I was out of town and couldn't post. I guess if I'm not here for you guys to blame you turn on each other it seems. Ok, here we go................ When this was being worked out, it was believed that the plant was going to be down to one shift for at least a month, and possibly even longer. We told the company that being down to one shift that long we wanted to rotate the down weeks between crews. Ford, wanting to only work dayshift hours, said they would just lay off nights for the whole month or however long it may be. Not thinking this was right, since it was placing all the financial burden on one crew we argued to have B crew work the dayshift hours and rotate, as well as rotate body and paint. Remember we did this on the information that it would be a month or longer. They are now redirecting the chips so that KTP should be able to run both shifts now. If we had known this at the time we would have just laid B crew off for this week. I know some on here prefer their time off. But, if you want a BC to fight for you to be laid off more I'm not your man. Being a whole month we felt was too big of a hit to NOT bring B crew to days to rotate in order to minimize the financial burden. That is 100% why it was done this way. Now that it has changed I understand everyones frustration, but at least put yourself in our shoes and think of what you would have done for KTP as a whole based on what was probably going to happen at the time. We will work 4x10's next week in final. After that it looks like we will be running too much OT to do that , they will be trying to make up all the lost production so we will probably run 5x9.5 You know kessinger, its in our nature to bitch and make up explanations until we get a real one............ FWIW, thanks for clearing that up. And thanks for the effort to spread around the pain, it makes sense now. Hugs and kisses to all........ So we will be working steady? My concern is that I have vacation scheduled the third week of May and I was told last night to reschedule it in order not to lose it..I was scheduled last week and we TLO'd so now I have 48 hrs left..since we cannot get paid for unused time-many of is with June eligibility are starting to panic...

ktpgal based on what we know right now,................and God knows that can change............take your vacation. They do believe we will be working very steady. Though they have given us no reason to believe they even know for sure, it does seem we will be working.
So everyone knows. These issues are coming from third party vendors going bankrupt. Imagine how hard it would be to get parts if GM and Dodge had gone under considering how much trouble we are having now.

I see 10.7 hours being posted on here. I may be wrong , correct me if I am. I thought we had in the contract we won't work over 10.5 hours.

Mad, We get a TON of calls with people SAYING they are going. I am guessing when it shakes out it will be 20 give or take 5. No we will not need bodies to fill those spots. This is because we are doing 25 mile drives for launch and when that goes away that will free up about 40 people.
ktpking, We are fighting about the 10.7 vs. 10.5 now. The only contract language directly refering to it is in the national LOA and it states 10.7. When we went to the "hybrid" 4x10 back in 07 we put a schedule out that said nothing over 10.5. The problem here is that it was not turned into contract language. We are arguing that it still needs to be honored.
There is much more to this and it goes deeper than this short explanation but it is still something we are arguing about and I don't want to list everything being said, or all our arguments, at this point. Hopefully we will get this worked out. I did not want to ignore your question, yet I can't answer it completely. They aren't really wanting 10.7 they only want to do 10, but covering their ass, so lets hope it isn't even an issue.
