[quote author=kessinger board=rumors thread=9036 post= B-crew has worked more, over that time period. But on the three year run we are lower, as averaged by departments in the final area.[/quote] So it wasn't overtime plant wide just in the final area determined who worked?

I believe the first 40 idea is for LAP/COA...at KTP, time after 8 in a day, and special days like Saturday are still OT all the time I believe. The first 40 situation is for 4-10 hour schedule I believe. LAP was on 4-10s so Monday-Thursday we would only get OT on anything over 10 hours. Friday and Saturday were OT no matter what, even if you missed a day during the week. They did this so they wouldn't send us home throughout the week and make us work Friday. The only thing was you didn't get short work week.

OK,
Beenaround is right,. If you were AWOL this week, Saturday will be straight time, unless you go over 40 hours then the hours over 40 will be time and 1/2. We still have 2 people that were AWOL volunteer to come in, they want the pay even at straight time.
I know many were angry about working, but we still had more that want to work than don't. They actualy have turned a few people down and they have about 60 more people coming in than they need. If we had allowed A crew to be lead crew then we would have been violating all the people on B-crew that want the OT since B crew was lower on OTE.
Will you be AWOL'd if your job is covered? It wont go by job, that wouldn't be fair since if you had a job no one likes you would be screwed. Heres how it will shake out basicly:
If you told them you were probably not coming in then they went and tried to get volunteers to cover your team. If they got enough and your team did not have to double up any jobs then your team will be covered (only those people that told them they weren't coming). If they have to double up on a job on your team then the lowest seniority person that was on the "not coming" list will be written up for "failure to work scheduled OT" (for the record that is the penalty) not "failure to follow". If you have 2 double ups, 2 wont be covered, 3 doubles ups, 3 won't be covered............. We basicly tried to follow the philosophy of ask high force low.
If you didnt tell them you weren't coming,so they didn't try to find you a replacement, and you no show, then there will be an R@W.
Ok before the flames come. Was this a perfect solution............. Oh HELL NO. This Saturday was short notice, we tried to work out the best situation we could for those that had events they could or would not miss. Not everyone will be covered unfortunatly, but the numbers of those not covered will be very low.
Contratualy they could have required everyone on B crew to be here and R@W'd any that didn't come. We did the best we could with it, the senior people on the teams will be first to be covered. Like the ask high force low that is done. Those that we couldn't get covered will get the same penalty that they would have if we didn't do anything at all. So they are not any worse off then they were without us doing this. I do not feel it would be right to not cover anyone at all because I can't get anyone covered. We had to do it in a fair way an in a union seniority is the right way.
B crew is lead crew, so B-crew has preference on jobs. Keep in mind though they still have to be able to run. But if they can run with you on your job you should be on your job.
Think that answers everything listed.
Yes, Final was averaged together and body and paint were together. That was due to their original belief that they would need two crews. But B-crew body and paint were low houred so them being factored in with final would create the same result.

This place is crazy! B-crew paint went 10 hrs. tonight. I'm sure the full 8 tomorrow as well. C- crew, as usual will come in Sunday night and run less than 5 hrs. Probably more like 2-3 hrs.

Whatever. Enjoy the fat ass paycheck next week. Not like we get this much OT on a regular basis. And let's all be thankful that we are working at all. A lot of brothers and sisters at LAP are now on ILO as of Thursday.

Man, I just really need a vacation away from here! I've had sooooooooooo many Saturdays in the past, got spoiled by the layoffs too. I know we are blessed with our jobs! But this time of year with my friends and family matter to me. Don't get me wrong, the money is the bomb, and fortunate for the opportunity to get it. Fortunately wife has good job too! Bills are paid and we are blessed financially!

I am not even forced to work and probally would take the money if forced. What's bullshit is they have had a Saturday scheduled multiple times and canceled it. Body / paint / stamping have broke down multiple times and they didn't make lost production up any of them times. But let it snow and people not show and/ or parts can't get there. Bam let's make it up now the weekend before Xmas. It's just piss poor management and the union can do nothing about it I guess. Instead of working us on one of the multiple Saturdays and getting ahead on production. That would make to much sense thou. I forget where I work sometimes.
I do appreciate the heads up on here kessinger.
Well maybe this run of Saturday production will make ford not miss the qtr and the stock will fly soon to 24
The overtime equalization sheets is such a mess I would bet my nexted check that 70% or more of the teams don't turn in corrections each week. Of the 30% that do I would say that them corrections are not correct!
Would also bet that 98% of all supervisors dont charge anyone when putting the times in because its to much work. They dont ask you to work over ,the team leader does, so unless the team leader tells them who to charge yea. Plus if something is messed up you cant file a grievance on your team leader.

I keep posting about incompetence at KTP...lets talk about what happened in less than 24 hours in body. First, people are notified of a mandatory Saturday. A crew body is told they have to work. Then word of body/paint don't need to work due to the system having plenty of units to run. Then all of B crew has to work. People on C crew are surveyed to fill gaps of people not showing on B crew. Then on Friday, people on C crew are called at home and informed it is not their time to work, so they are not working and a new survey has to be performed. LMAO Incompetence as usual. Life is good at KTP! ******ATTENTION******** KESSINGER Add one more to that. The people that said no that there not going to be there Sat. (much less AWOL) THEY ARE GOING TO COVER THEM. Tried numerous times to get UNION (lol) to come out to explain how someone can say Im going to AWOL and then get rewarded from LABOR and the are EXUSED.. But you know what we went 10 hrs and no one from the UNION (lol) didnt even show. P.S. Whats your excuse this time Union? ? Ok Im done with my rant. Just another one logged in my book when it comes to voting time for Union Officials...

Looks like the Union represents High Seniority only in this scenario...which makes sense...since it is true. Way to represent.....(<sarcasm)

Hey Kessinger If we are working under a contract, then enforce the contract! R&W all that don't show. Rewarding someone for violating the contract is not fair. How about if you cross the border into our country illegally you get amnesty, if you follow the law to immigrate you get screwed! Oh I forgot, our union is just like a bunch of Democrates, so I guess that make sense to them too!

This is just another example of how weak the union is at KTP. LAP would have never let this situation happen. Just because they technically have the right to add a saturday on such short notice doesn't mean they can. Management and the union work TOGETHER at LAP and that is why morale is so much better over there.

We had more people want to work than we needed. So, even if we could have canceled the Saturday I would have been doing all the people that wanted to work today wrong. And we always have more people that want to work than don't. Though it WAS closer this time than normal.
If you told them you were gonna miss Saturday and they were able to get someone to cover your job you will not be AWOL'd. Luckily we had enough volunteers so those that told them they couldn't be here are covered.
AND THAT IS WHY THEY AREN'T AWOL. They are not AWOL because they notified the company and the company was able to get volunteers to cover them. If they didn't allow the company the chance to get someone to cover or the didn't get someone to cover they would be AWOL'd.
Complain all you want it was the right thing to do. Many people had plans they could not break on such short notice and though we couldn't stop the Saturday we were able to help those that couldn't help but miss. It was the right thing to do.
Who did you call for Freaknuts? We keep call logs if you called, we will have a record and if they didn't come see you I will handle that. You can PM me or just put it out here I don't care which.
thintowin, if you teamleader asks the wrong person it is still grievance. The contract reads that ultimatly the company is responsible for OT, so that we can still griev. even though teamleaders line it up.

Im not thankful for KTP. Im just thankful I have a job PERIOD. Too many people take it for granted. I should know because I used to do the same thing. Then I started being laid off 4 weeks at a time and only working 2 weeks then off for 4 more weeks. It made me put things in perspective. Now if anyone on here wants to insult me that is their business. It doesn't really bother me. But if you want to have an intelligent conversation or even a friendly debate I will be glad to oblige.
