I've seen and read books that changed my life while building trucks for a good wage.

I've seen a Hunter S. Thompson book that was a mediocre caricature of a former glory.

I've seen women drink Hurricanes at Christmas and dance on the line.

I've seen myself gain and lose weight.

I've seen smart bosses and lazy ones.

I've seen myself fight work and I've seen myself take it.

I've seen robots replace humans.

I've seen my dad retire.

I've seen day shift.

I've seen a lot more of night shift.

I've seen a paycheck for putting words on paper.

I've seen a golf ball teed up in the parking lot and hit across Fern Valley Road.

I've seen men and women in tears.

I've seen a glove ball hit someone in the face.

I've seen a lot of fake boobs.

I've seen my daughter trade in a teddy bear for a cd player.

I've seen coworkers I'd fight for and fight against.

And I think I've seen all I can see.

I've seen me get rolled from chassis to trim.

I've seen me become good friends with one of the people responsible for that roll.

I've seen people drink at work.

I've seen people do drugs at work.

I've seen bold faced lies from the committee.

I've seen me tell a bold face lie to a committeeman.

I've seen salary that doesn't care.

I've seen union that doesn't care.

I've seen a minimal amount of seniority but somehow held on this long.

I haven't seen the half of it!

I've seen my hands swell to three times their normal size my 1st week on the line.
I've seen myself sitting in my car on break attempting to decide whether to quit or go back in.
I've seen my father retire.
I've seen some of my favorite co-workers pass before they were able to have a life after Ford.
I've seen some of the best and worst co-workers one can have.
I've seen people that really are passionate about what they're doing, others that could care less.
I've seen WAY too many people worry about what someone else is doing.
I've seen WAY too many people get off on stabbing a union brother/sister in the back.
I've seen people pass out on their job due to heat or health related issues.
I've seen several of my co-workers not return to work due to illness or death.
I've seen people screwing in the plant (on the roof).
I've seen people screwing in the parking lot.
Then comes...I've seen spouses chasing their spouses and spouses' workmate around the parking lot with baseball bats, etc...
I've seen a man standing in the parking lot, only minutes before he was cut from ear to ear.
I've seen two grown men get in a fight, swinging tools at one another.
I've seen bosses try to give orders while being shitfaced drunk...one of my classics.
I've seen units driven into poles, other units, people, you name it, they've hit it.
I've seen people that haven't worked a lick in the last ten years playing the medical game.
I've seen my co-worker take naps between units.
I've seen people accept buyouts to encourage retirement or to seek another career.
I've seen the workers at LAP open their wallets time and time again to donate to various charities.
I've seen over a thousand needy children that were given a wonderful Christmas with the Adopt-a-child program.

Hey, my dad could sleep between units. He's the only person I've ever met that can fall asleep on command. He's retired, but still.

The units being driven off.... that explans dad's Lincoln (t's a 2001) for a while there it was in the shop more than it was out. My old Tbird, never any problems.

I've seen a good life, financially, at Ford

I,ve seen people miss the "Adopt A Child" children open their gifts because they were passed out drunk.

I've seen people allowed to work on the line drunk off their a**, but others sent home for talking to their wives on their cell phones.

I have also seen people better themselves by getting an education.

I've seen Ford give me my first computer.

I've seen profits through the roof.

I've seen morale down in the dumps.

I've seen boys become men, girls become women, and I think maybe one man become a woman.

I've seen generosity unmatched.

I've seen the good, the bad, and the ugly.

I've definately seen worse days than these.

I've seen someone deepfry fish on the line, have management complain about craters, and buy a fish sandwich from him.

I've seen a constantly drunk man come to work everyday.

I've see someone purposely run a forklift into a water line because he was mad.

I've made a lot great friends at Ford.

I've made a enemy or two at Ford.

I've seen supervisors sue Ford because the felt they didn't get promoted because of their skin color.

I've seen workers sue because Ford wouldn't let them leave when it was snowing.

I've seen nightshift way more than I've seen dayshift.

I've seen my newborn son become a teenager.

I've seen friends who lost wives, husbands, children, grandparents, brothers, sisters, aunts, uncles, friends, and everyother relative you can think of.

I've taken vacations I never would have without Ford $$$.

I bought a home.

I spent too much money on too many ex-girlfriends.

I've seen a co-worker get a bachlor degree from studying & doing homework on the line.

I've seen a girl on chassis go out into the parking lot on break and have a threesome with two of my co-workers in her minivan.
I've seen way too many accidents on Fern Valley because everybody thinks it's a race home.
I've seen the company treat us more and more like inmates every year since 1995.
I've seen cafeterias close down.
I've seen ice machines that only work on Monday.
I've seen people attempting to steal copper from the plant and get caught.
I've seen married women with kids get a job at Ford and leave them all for a co-worker.
I've seen bosses take care of certain employees because of breast size or sexual favors.
I've seen people play video games between trucks.
I've seen HUGE profit sharing checks be replaced by billion dollar losses.
I've seen Nasser run the company into the ground.
I've seen the Firestone family put a huge dent in Explorer sales.
I've seen the company ignore far too many GREAT ideas by the individuals that work on the floor because they didn't think of them.
I've seen too many people on here say that we're closing in 2008-09.
I've seen thousands of people not take advantage of programs and education that are offered to each and every employee.
Read above, too many wait until it's all doom and gloom before they decide to use these benefits, shame on all of us.
I want to see all of the retirees continue to get a pension check every month, retain insurance benefits that are fair, and not be screwed with in the future as they have been in the recent past.
I want to see Ford prosper, profit sharing checks return, LAP have a future, and have a drama free work environment.

I have seen employees standing around not doing jack while I am busting my rear and their getting paid the same amount of money I am.

I have seen "friends" become enemies. And "friends" become lovers.

I have seen people quit their jobs only to come back a few weeks later.

I have seen plenty of coworkers get wasted.

I have seen a coworkers shorts get pulled down while on the line.

I have seen people diss my family in front of me not knowing that I am related to the person they are talking about.

I have seen children leave the plant after getting their gifts from the Adopt A Child program as happy as they could be.

I have seen children come visit their moms or dads in the plant during the Adopt A Child dinner and heard them screaming and crying the whole way down the line while being carried out by the other parent because they didn't want to leave them.

I have seen coworkers that were talked about so badly and said to be evil people but actually were really sweet once you got to know them.

I have seen my children grow and wish that I could be there when they get home from school and hear all about their day instead of hearing about it the next morning on the car ride to school.

Since I've seen most of the stuff listed above I wont repeat them. Heres a few I have seen and possibly been involved with, lol.

1. Seen a (not all there person) lay in the middle of an aisle and pretend to be shooting at people with a rifle.

2. Seen another (not all there person) for many years talk to his imaginary friend Toby and even physically fight with him. Sometimes he was beaten up by him, lol.

3. Seen us go out on break and fill garbage cans up with snow and bring it back in the old braze booth and have snowball fights.

4. Seen a stripper come in a give us all a very nice show during lunch in the old braze booth as well.

5. Seen a man get smashed by rotating stock table.

6. Seen someone drive a tug off into the railroad pit.

7. Seen a new hire showing off and cut an ear plug in half and put the halves in each ear and then have to go to medical because he couldnt get it out.

8. Seen my boss panic when I put a chicken leg bone with some meat on it in my glove and then cut it open with some ketchup on it and tell him I accidently cut it open with my grinder. Old braze booth again.

9. Seen our area superintendant catch us playing baseball with a taped up gloveball and makeshift bat. Instead of getting yelled at he took a few swings. Man I miss that old braze booth.

10. Seen many people chase a dollar bill taped to fishing line and a pole while they came in for nightshift and down an aisle to go to the sealer deck.

11. Seen a boss pop a wheelie on his bicycle and flip backwards, lol.

12. Seen a forklift driver pick up a quarter with his forks. Heard it can be done with a dime also.

13. Seen a guy in bodyshop shoot grapes with a slingshot at people working on the chasis line. (Wasnt me if you got hit).

14. Seen a guy get sent up for putting the seat covers on inside out in the old coushin dept. when he was being time studied.

15. Seen a boss get blue marking dye all over his ear when he answered his desk phone after someone rubbed it all over the earpiece.

16. Seen many people fall for the old "Let me guess your weight" trick. In case you havent seen that one..... the victim puts his/her arms around and over the guessers shoulders from behind and the guesser leans forwards lifting the victims feet off the ground then another person smacks the hell out of the victims ass with something.

17. Seen many a person being pied in the face when they bid out on there last day in the area.

18. Seen and participated in many water fire extinguisher fights.

I am sure Iam leaving plenty out that I just cant think of right now.................man I miss the good ole days, lol.

I've seen many friends come and go before their time....

I've seen many marriages end: and new ones begin:just to end again....

I've also seen how just one negative person can drag down an entire group of people....

And also how one positive person can give you a whole new outlook on life....

I've seen many dreams come true, with the help of Ford Motor Company, and hope to achieve many more...................
