Facebook is where to get actual things going on with Ford and UAW. This message board is just for the old timers at the McDonald's sipping their coffee spitting about the good ol times and how the younger folks are idiots. And yet here you are lol

Back to what the media says we make, I just read where they said we "average" 90,000 a year.....I've been with Ford 27 years, NEVER made 90,000 in 1 year, much less average it.... Where do they get this nonsense....

Just read where GM and UAW are close to a tentative agreement to end strike. How much you wanna bet that its a shitty deal with tons of grey area language. Hopefully the workers stick together and vote it down if its garbage.

Read in the Free Press that GM has reinstated the workers insurance. It apparently tarnished their image. They just gave back what they took away...

Seeing as though our brothers and sisters at GM are standing their grounds and striking, are we next? What is your thoughts? I got family who's been here for 20 plus years and says not a chance. I'm only 6 years deep in this. I'm ready to grab my sign and throw on my red shirt and picket if I have too! I'll grab my kids and bring them too! Whole family will be ready! LOL! SOLIDARITY That’s the problem Your gonna bring your kids to a picket To many of these young bucks think this is a festival or something. It’s not an event your bring your family to.

We all feel your pain. Next time someone chastises you about your overpaid union job, shooting a couple bolts in a fender and making $80/hr, remind them that we are hiring and why haven’t they put their application in yet?? If they haven’t put in an application but they still keep complaining tell em to STFU!! Also, I ain’t in anyone’s way, holding them back from getting a better job. If you want a better life for yourself go out and get it! No ones gonna hand it to you! Ugh!!! And Ford is hiring temps not full time So nobody is coming here for a better life

Wow GM is really trying to stick it to US.Just read their latest proposal..👎🏻Looks like 28.00$ an hour is top pay for those hired after 2007?Like I predicted in progression workers will NEVER make top pay.SMH.I also didn’t realize that temps don’t get Profit sharing? But they pay union dues? How can someone (UAW) agree with this?If they work 4 months and we make profit the should get a check pro rated for time WORKED .Greedy fuckers!

I remember the post where you talked about that. Thankful UAW rejected the offer but still seems like $28 will be new top pay. Can't believe theyre haggling over this garbage when our wages only make up 5% of the unit price. Sad. At least theyre not touching the health care. Who knows about dental and vision though.. Not looking forward to this..

I learned about the Profit Sharing when SD body opened up. That's BS. And you said it right, they are paying dues, so they should get something. But I also had a few of the new guys tell me after I had a couple of union officials come out of hiding and talk to them that "they can't represent them since they are STS's. Now that is some major BS!!!!!! I never thought they would make top scale when they put it in the contract last time that it would happen in 8 years. Especially since the contract is only for 4 years. That showed right there that it was only put in to fill the pages. If you understand any thing about business you know it's always about the bottom dollar. Just like when they kept wanting us to reopen the contract 4 months before it expired to help the company out. And if we did we were promised that we would get it all back, which we never did. Then after we finally said that we have had enough, the next week it came out that Ford made a nice little profit and Mulally made about 75 million in stock options. Beside a raise on his salary.

That's screwed up but no worries it's in the unions control none of us will have it in the near future after retirement You are forced to go on Medicare when you turn 62 anyway. Worst case scenario if you hire in early and retire after 30 years or less, you have to work a few more years. Eventually this place will be full of old wore out souls who can’t retire because they need the insurance...

Word to the wise. Use Ford before they use you. Go to school, stuff the tesphe as much as you can afford while you're here, and make investments that will produce passive income. After all is said and done in the next few months Ford will no longer be the career job we know. Or the career job in-progressions thought they had.. Thats my take anyway.

What is a career job anymore anyway? People are trying to pay bills and feed their kids. Everyone has a jealousy bias when it comes to the younger generation below them to have success. Thanks for the head up though. I heard the janitorial career is on the uptick. Or management. Waste management

Careful with the blanket statements agslater.. regardless of what you think many of us want the younger guys to be equals because many of them are our own kids, cousins, neignbors, etc. An in-progression who comes in at the age of 20 won't see a 30 and out or ever reach top pay smh. imagine working here for 45 years just to reach the age for medicare so you can retire... lol. Plan accordingly or die slow in the beast.

The whole problem with the younger generation is it’s all about computers and tech jobs.Which is a great gig BUT there’s also a big need for SKILLED TRADES,which involves getting dirty. Now if you dont have a trade you’re stuck making 14-16$ an hour as a temp or new hire.I wouldn’t want my kid to work here.Ford is a bunch of slave drivers that only care about the Dollar.New guys are F Ed.Id be going to a trade school at night and in 3 yrs you’ll be making 28$ as a Machinist..Or Welder Or Plumber etc. With better benefits .Ive always had the same benefits at other jobs.EXCEPT the SWW,Day after Easter, shut down (But I had vacation)
